CONTENTS

The book Soybean: Molecular Aspects of Breeding focuses recent progress in our understanding of the genetics and molecular biology of soybean. This book is divided into four parts and contains 22 chapters. Part I, Molecular Biology and Biotechnology focuses advances in molecular biology and laboratory procedures that have been developed recently to manipulate DNA. Part II, Breeding for abiotic stress covers proteomics approaches form as a powerful tool for investigating the molecular mechanisms of the plant responses to various types of abiotic stresses. Part III, Breeding for biotic stress addresses issues related to application of molecular based strategies in order to increase soybean resistance to various biotic factors. Part IV, Recent Technology reviews recent technologies into the realm of soybean monitoring, processing and product use. While the information accumulated in this book is of primary interest for plant breeders, valuable insights are also offered to agronomists, molecular biologists, physiologists, plant pathologists, food scientists and students. The book is a result of efforts made by many experts from different countries (USA, Japan, Croatia, Serbia, China, Canada, Malawi, Iran, Hong Kong, Brasil, Mexico).

SADRŽAJ

Knjiga Soja: Molekularni aspekti oplemenjivanja sadržajno je usmjerena na novija saznanja i napretke u području genetike i molekularne biologije soje. Knjiga je podijeljena u četiri cjeline i sadrži 22 poglavlja. Prvi dio, Molekularna biologija i biotehnologija, usmjeren je na postignuća u molekularnoj biologiji i laborato-rijskim postupcima za manipuliranje DNK. Drugi dio, Oplemenjivanje na abiotski stress, obuhvaća postignuća u području proteomike, moćnog sredstva za istraživanje molekularnih mehanizama reakcije biljke na različite tipove abiotskih stresova. Treći dio, Oplemenjivanje na biotski stress, odnosi se na primjenu molekularno temeljenih strategija, kako bi se povećala otpornost soje na razne biotske činitelje. Četvrti dio, Suvremena tehnologija,analizira novije tehnologije u području pra-ćenja, obrade i upotrebe sojinih proizvoda. Informacije obuhvaćene ovom knjigom od primarnoga su interesa za oplemenjivače, ali, isto tako, mogu biti korisne agro-nomima, molekularnim biolozima, fiziolozima, biljnim patolozima, prehrambenim znanstvenicima i studentima. Knjiga je rezultat rada mnogih stručnjaka iz različitih zemalja (SAD, Japan, Hrvatska, Srbija, Kina, Kanada, Malawi, Iran, Hong Kong, Brazil, Meksiko).
