2014!

2014!

as the New Year approaches, we have designed new goals for the Brazilian Journal of otorhinolaryngology (BJorl). aiming to expand the scope of our publication and to pro-vide our readers accessibility to new horizons, our strategic priority will be to seek greater international visibility and increased bibliometric indices. Consequently, a change in the editorial group and policies was necessary.

With the commitment and support of the 2013 Brazilian association of otorhinolaryngology and Cervical-Facial Sur-gery (aBorlCCF-CCF) management team, we established

a partnership with Elsevier, one of the leading scientiic

publishers in the world. With that, we will obtain

import-ant tools for the dissemination of our scientiic production.

among them are:

1. a faster process of article submission through the El-sevier Editorial System (EES) electronic platform; 2. the creation of a new layout for the Brazilian Journal

of otorhinolaryngology (BJorl) website, in which the articles will be published ahead of print, further re-ducing the time interval between article acceptance and publication;

3. inclusion in Elsevier international platforms (www. elsevier.com and www.sciencedirect.com), aiming to broaden the visibility of BJorl and thereby increase the rate of citations and international collaborations; 4. Maintenance of a high-quality peer-review process,

continuously improving the quality of the publication;

5. Selection and maintenance of a group of

top-quali-ty reviewers committed to our graphic and scientiic

project;

6. Maintenance of a body of Editors of Specialties and an Editorial Board committed to working effectively for BJorl.

thus, the Committee hopes to facilitate the submission of articles for authors and the review process for the editorial staff, while maintaining the transparency of the entire pro-cess, reducing the interval between article submission and

inal decision, and speeding the availability of articles on all

platforms, increasing the time of exposure of articles avail-able for reading and future citations.

thus, we believe that the BJorl, supported by the com-mitment of the new Editorial Board and its committee, will ensure the high quality of the selected articles and will seek

constant improvements in its editorial low and dissemination

of published articles.

We wish you all a Happy New Year!
