PROCESSO SELETIVO PARA BOLSA DE MESTRADO EM ESTUDOS CHINESES NA YENCHING
ACADEMY OF PEKING UNIVERSITY
A Fundação Getulio Vargas – EBAPE anuncia a abertura das inscrições para o Processo Seletivo para Bolsa de Mestrado em Estudos Chineses na Yenching Academiy of Peking University (YCA) para o ano de 2020.
1. SOBRE O PROGRAMA
1.1. O Mestrado em Estudos Chineses da YCA tem como objetivo preparar participantes capazes de dialogar com a China e com o mundo, por meio da valorização do pensamento sobre a potência asiática, considerando perspectivas chinesas e estrangeiras.
1.2. O Programa adota um modelo altamente customizável onde os participantes podem tanto cursar disciplinas das seis áreas de pesquisa ofertadas pela YCA como podem cursar eletivas de outros departamentos da Peking University. Essa interdisciplinaridade busca encorajar diálogos entre as disciplinas e criar um ambiente favorável à proliferação de ideias inovadoras.
1.3. As áreas de pesquisa são: - Economics and Management; - History and Archaeology; - Law and Society;
- Literature and Culture; - Philosophy and Religion;
- Politics and International Relations. 2. BENEFÍCIOS DO PROGRAMA
2.1. Os candidatos aceitos pela YCA receberão a Yenching Fellowship, que cobre os seguintes itens: a. Mensalidades do Programa;
b. Passagens áreas entre o país de origem dos selecionados e Pequim; c. Acomodação no campus;
d. Bolsa de Estudos mensal; e. Curso de língua chinesa;
f. Os(As) alunos(as) internacionais passarão por processo de nivelamento e serão alocados(as) nas turmas de acordo;
g. Caso o(a) aluno(a) já tenha proficiência suficiente, poderá ser dispensado das aulas de idioma desde que inclua em sua grade de estudos outras disciplinas lecionadas em chinês.
3. ELEGIBILIDADE
3.1. Poderão participar do processo seletivo sejam alunos(as) ativos ou Alumni da Fundação Getulio Vargas EBAPE, que atendam aos seguintes requisitos:
a. Possuir Graduação completa, em qualquer área, concluída até 31 de julho de 2021; b. Possuir CR 7.0 no mínimo ou conceito A ou B
2 c. Forte interesse em estudos interdisciplinares em China, para seus planos de carreira;
d. Registros de atividades extracurriculares, engajamento comunitário e responsabilidade social; e. Potencial de liderança;
f. Proficiência em língua inglesa (ver seção DOCUMENTAÇÃO OBRIGATÓRIA PARA PARTICIPAÇÃO, item 8).
4. VAGAS
4.1. Serão oferecidas 2 (dois) vagas e o seu preenchimento atenderá aos requisitos dispostos nesse edital.
4.2. A FGV EBAPE fará a seleção dos candidatos cujas nomeações serão encaminhadas para a Diretoria Internacional da Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV DINT) .
5. DOCUMENTAÇÃO OBRIGATÓRIA PARA PARTICIPAÇÃO
5.1. Os(As) candidatos(as) interessados(as) em participar do processo seletivo deverão submeter a documentação abaixo listada ao Escritório de Relações Internacionais via e-mail para ebaperi@fgv.br.
5.2. Documentação:
a. Formulário de Aplicação da YCA (ANEXO II);
b. Personal Statement (máximo de 750 palavras), conforme ANEXO II; c. Proposta de Pesquisa (máximo de uma página), conforme ANEXO II; d. Curriculum Vitae;
e. Histórico Escolar. Deverá ser apresentada a versão original do Histórico Escolar (em Português) e a tradução juramentada em Inglês do documento;
f. Diploma de Graduação para cursos concluídos até 31/07/2021. Em caso de candidatos em fase de conclusão do curso de Graduação, será Declaração de Matrícula atual do curso.
g. Duas (2) Cartas de Recomendação escritas em papel timbrado da instituição; h. Comprovante de proficiência em Inglês:

Cambridge English Scale (Advanced): mínimoOverall 185 CEFR: mínimo C1 level
5.3. A documentação deve ser apresentada exclusivamente em Inglês.
5.4. Somente serão aceitos arquivos submetidos em formato PDF dentro do prazo estipulado no Calendário do Processo Seletivo (ANEXO I).
5.5. Só serão confirmados inscritos no processo seletivo os candidatos que enviarem a documentação completa, conforme item 5.2.
3 5.6. A documentação listada no item 5.2 atende às as exigências de seleção da YCA.
5.7. Orientação para Cartas de Recomendação
5.7.1. As Cartas devem ser enviadas separadamente, pelos professores recomendantes, por meio de correio eletrônico ao Escritório de Relações Internacionais (ebaperi@fgv.br).
5.7.2. É responsabilidade do(a) candidato(a) se certificar junto aos(às) professores(as) o envio da Carta dentro do prazo estabelecido no Calendário do Processo Seletivo) para submissão de documentação.
5.7.3. As Cartas devem ser anexadas ao Recommender Form for Partner Universities em formato PDF. O formulário encontra-se anexado à mensagem de lançamento do edital compartilhada pelo Escritório de Relações Internacionais.
5.7.4. Somente serão aceitas Cartas de Recomendação redigidas por professores titulares (full professors) e professores associados (associate professors) – ou títulos equivalentes.
5.7.5. As orientações para preenchimento das Cartas de Recomendação seguem as instruções da YCA e estão disponíveis no ANEXO III deste edital.
6. PROCESSO DE SELEÇÃO
6.1. A seleção de candidatos será realizada pela FGV EBAPE e os candidatos selecionados serão encaminhados à FGV DINT para formalização de candidatura junto a YCA.
6.2. Os(As) candidatos(as) interessados(as) deverão fazer sua inscrição on-line gratuitamente no portal da YCA (http://101.200.29.232/YENCHING/login.html) e submeter a documentação para participação listada no presente Edital.
6.3. A inscrição deverá ser realizada dentro do prazo estipulado no Calendário do Processo Seletivo (ANEXO I).
6.4. Os candidatos que apresentarem a documentação completa (item 5.2) dentro do prazo estabelecido no Calendário do Processo seletivo (ANEXO I), serão convocados para as entrevistas. 6.5. As entrevistas serão conduzidas pelo Comitê de Seleção da FGV EBAPE e acontecerão no período
estipulado no Calendário do Processo Seletivo (ANEXO I).
6.6. As entrevistas serão realizadas remotamente. Os(as) candidatos(as) receberão informações sobre acesso, data e horário via e-mail.
7. CLASSIFICAÇÃO
7.1. Os candidatos serão classificados com base nos critérios de elegibilidade estabelecidos no item 3, mediante aos os documentos submetidos e a entrevista realizada.
7.2. O resultado da classificação será divulgado por e-mail conforme Calendário do Processo Seletivo (ANEXO I).
4 7.3. Os candidatos aprovados serão indicados à FGV DINT, que formalizará a candidatura junto ao
processo seletivo da YCA.

Guidance for Letters of Recommendation
The Yenching Academy Admissions Committee would like to thank recommenders in advance for their candid evaluations of applicants for the Master’s in China Studies program. Letters of recommendation carry significant weight in the admissions process.
In addition to two letters of recommendation, the Admissions Committee will be reviewing the applicant’s academic transcript, CV, personal statement, and research proposal, articulating reasons why the program will enhance his/her career.
Our mission is to ensure that international leaders in a variety of fields have a broad and rich understanding of China. We are interested in your evaluation of the applicant's academic abilities, personal qualities, leadership potential, defined as you like, and suitability for the program. Thus, applicants’ personal qualities are as important as academic abilities and professional experience.
A successful candidate not only has an outstanding academic record, high intellectual ability, and demonstrated leadership skills, but also has a strong moral character and sense of social responsibility.
The Admissions Committee will be grateful if letters of recommendation could speak to the above qualities and include the following criteria:

Please note that applicants of Partner Universities will give their recommenders university-specific instructions for submission. Recommenders of Partner University applicants will not upload their letters of recommendation to the Yenching Academy online application portal. In most cases, recommendation letters should be sent directly to the Partner University’s listed contact. The applicant is responsible for ensuring that recommenders understand where letters should be sent.
