to improve internationalization
What we are already doing
Despite the reduction in the budget of the Federal Universities in Brazil, the UFG maintained its commitment to internationalization and invested, in 2019, R$ 338.480,00 in:
- Air tickets.
- Room and board.
- Stipends.
- Affiliation payment (GCUB, FAUBAI, AULP, AUGM
What we are already doing
Creation of the figure of the Internationalization Coordinator in each UFG Unit.
We changed the General Regulation for Undergraduate Courses (RGCG) so that virtual mobility with foreign institutions could be contemplated.
We started the virtual mobility program through the MARCA Project.
What we are already doing
Our homepages are automatically being translated into English, French, Spanish, Italian, German and Mandarin.
We have an International Portal of UFG in English, which is being improved: https://international.ufg.br A multilingual catalog (Portuguese, English, French and Spanish) is being prepared for the dissemination of Graduate Programs abroad.

We have a Lector in Spanish and we intend to increase the number of Lectors, through the support of embassies.
Since last year, we have joined the Pre-PEC-G Program.
We have received Fulbright ETAs every year.
The UFG is participating annually in international fairs – NAFSA, USA.

We have a Language Center that serves almost 4,000 students.
We take part in the ANDIFES/Languages without Borders Network.

Since 2018, we have held 4 INFODAYS, an event in which information about internationalization and reports from students, staff and faculty about their experience in international mobility programs are shared.

The Vice-Presidency for Graduate Studies has just started a strategic planning process so that the all the Graduate Programs will have to think of effective actions and goals to increase the internationalization process in their courses from 2021 on.

Expand the offer of subjects taught in a foreign language both in undergraduate and graduate courses.
Expand the offer of foreign language classes for students, teachers and technical-administrative staff.
Extend partnerships for learning in teletandem and COIL.
Improve the structure of our campuses to better receive foreign students and teachers.

Final remarks
Participation in the ACE Laboratory has enabled us to further expand our international networks.
Through the data from the questionnaires, we will be able to implement actions to minimize the points to be improved and elaborate our Internationalization Project.
The results show us that faculty’s, staff’s and students’
proficiency in foreign languages needs to be improved.

We need to work with a hybrid model: virtual mobility and face-to-face mobility. This will make internationalization more democratic.
Internationalization at UFG now is a more institutionalized enterprise, with a more systematic involvement of the university community.
