RESOLUTION

CD9.R20

RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS OF ASSOCIATE MEMBERS AND

OTHER TERRITORIES IN THE WORLD HEALTH ASSEMBLY, THE

EXECUTIVE BOARD, AND REGIONAL COMMITTEES

THE 9th DIRECTING COUNCIL,

Considering that the Director-General of the World Health Organization has asked that Resolution

WHA9.52, requesting "Regional Committees to study the subject of the rights and obligations of

Associate Members in the regional organizations," be brought to the attention of the Regional

Committee;

Having studied the matter when examining Document CD9/14, 1 presented by the Director;

Bearing in mind that it had already considered the matter at its VII Meeting and approved

Considering that the situation with respect to the Regional Committee for the Americas has not

changed,

RESOLVES

To reiterate the decision adopted at its VII Meeting to inform the Director-General of the World

Health Organization, in reply to the inquiry received, that it is the wish of the Directing Council that

no measures be taken to change the present situation with regard to the Regional Committee for the

Americas.
