Os nossos Bispos estão a apoiar uma iniciativa para aumentar o salário mínimo e garantir benefícios para situações de doença. A nossa paróquia irá recolher assinaturas para enviar uma mensagem aos legisladores estaduais a fim de que se deixem sensibilizar para a necessidade de um aumento do salário mínimo e da dignidade das famílias que trabalham.

Our St. Vincent de Paul Society requests donations of
canned goods & non-perishables or cash contribu-tions for the needy of our Church Community. This will
help care for those in need during the Holiday Season. Thank you for supporting this most worthwhile minis-try.
CUTING DOWN COSTS OF HEAT AND ELECTRICITY
Starting this Sunday, November 5, the noon mass will be moved to 11:45AM. This way we will use less 1 hour of heat and electricity per month.
Those who work hard deserve to feed and care for their families!
This is the social justice statement, proposed by Cardinal O'Malley, and seconded by the Bishops of the four dioceses of his group that the Massachusetts Catholic Conference have taken into their hands.
To care for a family based on minimum wage is almost impossible. However, about 180,000 children have at least one working parent who receives $11.00 per hour.
We believe that all are created in the image and likeness of God, and therefore deserve to be treated with dignity! Unfortunately, this is not the case for millions of workers in Massachusetts. For this reason, people of faith are taking a stand to defend the gradual increase of minimum wage from $11.00 to $15.00 per hour, and a guaranteed right to sick days for full-time workers of this State.
Our Bishops are supporting an initiative to raise the minimum wage, and ensure benefits for conditions of illness. Our parish will gather signatures to send a message to state legislators to make them aware of the need for an increase in minimum wage, and for the dignity of working families. At the end of the next Sunday Masses - November 11/12 & 18/19, we ask that all voting parishioners come to the parish hall to sign this important document. EXPERIENCE SOLIDARITY!
