O livro texto adotado nas disciplinas Termodinâmica e Termodinâmica Aplicada, ministradas no Departamento de

Engenharia Mecânica da Universidade de Taubaté, UNITAU, é o Fundamentos da Termodinâmica, de autoria de

Gordon J. Van Wyllen, Claus Borgnakke e Richard E. Sonntag. Nesta obra são apresentadas tabelas de propriedades

termodinâmicas da água, bem organizadas e precisas.

Entretanto, durante as atividades de ensino das citadas disciplinas, senti a necessidade de desenvolver tabelas

ainda mais detalhadas, com o intuito de reduzir o número de interpolações realizadas pelos alunos quando na

resolução de exercícios em sala de aula, e, deste modo, poder aumentar o número de exercícios resolvidos em

classe e simultaneamente evitar que a atenção do aluno seja desviada do aprendizado dos conceitos da

termodinâmica pela constante execução de interpolações.

Este trabalho tem como base as tabelas de propriedades termodinâmicas da água do já mencionado livro texto, e

também de outras origens, a saber: Fundamentals of Engineering Thermodynamics, dos autores Moran J. e Shapiro

N.M. (5ª edição, 2006, Editora Wiley) e Thermodynamics An Engineering Approach, de Yunus A. Çengel e Michael

A. Boles (8ª edição, 2014, Editora McGraw-Hill Education). Além destes, também foi empregada a calculadora

on-line de propriedades termodinâmicas de fluidos do site da Universidade de Wisconsin, Madison (Fluid Property

Calculator

, disponível em janeiro de 2018 no endereço https://www.irc.wisc.edu/properties/).

Para produzir as novas tabelas, mais detalhadas, mas sem perder a precisão dos dados originais, foi empregado o

método de interpolação parabólica, tendo sido tomado sempre o cuidado de serem preservados os valores originais

das referências em meio aos valores interpolados.

A interpolação parabólica seguiu a metodologia descrita no Manual de Matemática para Engenheiros e Estudantes,

de autoria de I. Bronstein e K. Semendiaev, Editora Mir Moscou, reproduzida a seguir com pequenas alterações:

O resultado assim obtido apresenta um desvio de apenas 0,002% em relação ao valor real do seno de 50

IMPORTANTE:

As interpolações foram realizadas com o emprego do software MSExcel, e os resultados verificados através da

comparação com interpolações cúbicas B-Spline obtidas por meio do software Origin da OriginLab.

Através das comparações, o erro dos dados interpolados foi estimado como sendo na ordem de 0,01% em

média. Quando encontrados valores de desvio maiores que 0,1%, os pontos interpolados foram substituídos

por dados obtidos através da calculadora on-line de propriedades termodinâmicas de fluidos do site da

Universidade de Wisconsin, Madison.

Desta forma, considera-se que as tabelas aqui apresentadas têm precisão suficiente e adequada para as

finalidades educativas a que se destinam, não devendo, porém, serem utilizadas no desenvolvimento de

trabalhos de engenharia aplicada.

Por fim, ressalto que o objetivo maior deste trabalho é oferecer uma ferramenta que facilite para os alunos, ainda

que pouco, o aprendizado dos conceitos da termodinâmica. Sei que a contribuição é pequena, mas espero de todo

o coração que seja de real serventia.
