XXXVIH MEETING OF THE DIRECTING COUNCIL, XLVH MEETING

OF TFIE REGIONAL COMMi'FI'EE OF WHO FOR THE _RICAS

Rule 14of the Rules of Procedure of the Executive Committee stipulates that the Committee will be represented at meetings of the Directing Council or the Conference by its Chairman and as many as two others appointed by the Committee from among its members.

In recent years the Executive Committee, for reasons of economy, has decided to be represented at meetings of the Directing Council or the Pan American Sanitary Conference by only two persons--the Chairman and one other member. Since this procedure seems to have worked satisfactorily, the Committee may wish to follow this precedent with respect to representation at the XXXVIII Meeting of the Directing

Council, in which case it must elect a member to accompany the Chairman, and two
