Dear Brothers and Sisters,
We celebrated this past week the feast of All Saints. We celebrated the joy of the Church in presenting to us witnesses of the love of God, models that help us on our spiritual journey. The Saints were men and women who lived the love of God, who sinned and repented, but who sought the mercy of God, and lived it with their brothers and sisters.
Our entire life is a journey toward sanctity, a process of interior renewal. On this journey we are saints and sinners. The Church is Holy, the spouse of Christ, but its members are stained by sin. That is why there is a need for growth and formation in the love of Christ. That is why there is always a reason for joy when we can see men and women who, in spite of the difficulties of life, knew how to give witness of love and forgiveness.
The liturgical year is coming to an end with the feast of Christ the King a few weeks from now. A new liturgical year gives us the grace to reflect on how our faith was this past year. The big question is: how should the coming year be for me.
Among the many things that happened during 2016, a very beautiful one was the reform we started in our church. For quite a while our community has been talking about small changes that could be made to make the church more beautiful. We started the campaign to get rid of the carpet and put in a tiled floor. As time went along we discovered other things that had to be done.
My dear friends, I thank you for
dreaming with me, for having lived this time of
grace. The building of a church reminds us of the building of the Church of Christ within us. What needs to be changed in our lives? What needs to be reformed so that the Holy Spirit might dwell within us?
May you make a good meditation at this year's end, and thanks again for the help during the campaign. God bless you.

St. James R.C. Church November 6, 2016 3 CALENDÁRIO SEMANAL DA COMUNIDADE
PORTUGUESA E BRASILEIRA
Meus queridos Paroquianos,
