This article aims to investigate how the prints produced for the footwear line 'Chuck Taylor All Star, of Converse brand, are designed according to the significance acquired by this footwear throughout its history. Based on a literature search, summarizes the history of the 'Chuck Taylor’ All Star, its strong relationship with the counterculture movement which emerged from the 1950s and rock n’roll while pointing out how these relationships influence the theme of the printed collections. It also contextualizes the shoes (and their prints) within the consumer profile of contemporary society, especially in relation to the new urban tribes. Finally, the article lists a number of examples of printed collections in order to illustrate the arguments presented.
