11th SESSION OF THE REGIONAL COMMITTEE
Washington D.C., 21 - 30 September 1959
RESOLUTION
CD11.R32
REGISTER OF AREAS WHERE MALARIA IS ERADICATED
THE 11th DIRECTING COUNCIL,
Bearing in mind that the program of continent-wide malaria eradication is already well advanced,
and that various countries report considerable areas already free of the disease; and
Considering the need to employ the most careful epidemiological techniques in order to ensure that
malaria has been completely eliminated in a given territory,
RESOLVES
To request that the Director study the possibility of establishing in the Pan American Sanitary
Bureau a Register of Areas Where Malaria is Eradicated, as well as the conditions that Member
Governments should fulfill to request that a given area be included in the aforesaid Register, and
that he report the results of his study to the 40th Meeting of the Executive Committee.
