PROPOSED RESOLUTION

REGTSTFR OF A.REiS WHERE MALARIA IS ERADICATED

The Directing Council,

Bearing in mind that the program of continent-wide malaria

eradication is already well advanced, and that various countries report

considerable areas already free of the disease; and

Considering the need to employ the most careful epidemiological

techniques in order to ensure that malaria has been completely eliminated

in a given territory,

RESOLVES:

To request that the Director study the possibility of establishing

in the Pan American Sanitary Bureau a "Register of Areas Where Malaria is

Eradicated," as well as the conditions that Member Governments should

fulfill to request that a given area be included in the aforesaid

Register, and that he report the results of his study to the 40th Meeting
