L
ocated in a residential area of Lisbon, the Pestana Palace Lisboa is a 5 star hotel integrated in a palace of the 19th century which, along with its gardens, was classified as a “National Monument”.Of the building’s 194 rooms - 4 of which are Royal Suites – all are rich in decorative details influenced by the French style. The private rooms of the Marquis have been transformed into spacious suites, with artworks decorating the walls,
complemented by elegant antique furniture and luxurious sofas. The views onto the Tagus river or the extensive palace gardens are a constant feature in all Royal Suites. In the interiors, guests may enjoy unique meals in the award-winning Valle Flôr restaurant and relax both body and mind at the renovated Magic Spa.
The Pestana Palace Lisboa Hotel is a member of “The Leading Hotels of the World”, a distinction that places the hotel among the most luxurious and exquisite in the world.
Renascença Room
The exotic wood presented at Renascença room belonged
to a boat that came
from São Tomé and Príncipe, under Marquis of Valle Flôr
instructions.
The secular garden includes tree species from
São Tomé and Príncipe and from South America.
In the ancient ballrooms of Pestana Palace Lisboa Hotel, there is a magical space where the lavishing golden columns and chapiters evoke Versailles and where you
can experience a new level of Portuguese cuisine: one that breathes a palace’s inspiration and a French rigor. In the Valle-Flôr restaurant, your breakfasts and dinners
will stay in the memory of all your sense; not just the palate.
The Regency style multiplies the feeling of luxury and wellness, contrasting golden tones with the fresh green
and blue tones of the decor and the wrought iron of the huge luminous windows.

T
he Pestana Palace Lisboa Hotel is located close to Belém, near the city’s main monuments and cultural attractions, such as the Padrão dos Descobrimentos (Monument to the Discoveries), the Jerónimos Monastery, the Congress Centre and the Belém Cultural Center (CCB).The view of the Tagus River is enough to make anyone become passionate about this city born at the waterfront. But Lisbon’s history, its present and future offer much more to see.
With its yearlong blue sky, a mild winter and very beautiful beaches, Lisbon is at the top of all lists of Europe’s most interesting cities.
Frequented by artists and intellectuals - the Faculty of Fine Arts lies here - , the Chiado was the preferred spot of the poet Fernando Pessoa. Visitors should not miss taking a coffee (uma bica) on the esplanade of A Brasileira, where
the poet has been immortalized by a statue. From the Rua do Carmo to the Praça Camões, the streets are full of
bookstores, coffee bars, restaurants, museums, theatres and boutiques. Close to this quarter is the Bairro Alto.
With this heterogeneity of visitors and so much to discover, the Chiado presents itself as Lisbon’s true heart.
Take the chance to travel in the typical 28 tramway from the Graça to the Campo de Ourique parishes, crossing the Praça Camões, and completing a trip full of history through
the city’s main points of interest, like the Feira da Ladra, the São Jorge Castle, the Cathedral, the Baixa Pombalina,
the Basílica da Estrela and Fernando Pessoa House.
OUT
TO DO
Reserve an afternoon to walk around the long Avenida da Liberdade and take in the glamour of the boutiques and the fresh terraces. Continue until the Praça de Rossio (the square with the imposing National Theatre) and enter
the downtown streets, where you will find many stores and much animation, ending at the Terreiro do Paço,
close to the Tagus River.
TYPICAL QUARTERS
Alfama is the right place to sense the nostalgia of the fado. It is also the oldest district that resisted to the large
earthquake of 1755.
Bairro Alto is one of the most famous quarters in the Portuguese capital, being like a stage for one to see the Bohemian lifestyle and the nightlife, characterized by its atmosphere and the fusion of its picturesque streets and taverns and the fashion of its bars and stores of the major
alternative brands.
You should also visit the Bairro da Bica, which is one of the most authentic districts in town, and for this reason,
one of the most crowded during the festivities dedicated to the popular saints.

haute cuisine both national and international. Visitors will find endless different venues and
atmospheres: irresistible bakeries and the outdoor cafés where the inhabitants of Lisbon enjoy their typical coffee
called “bica”, the traditional “tascas” (small taverns) for snacks such as codfish puffs accompanied with a glass of
wine or a beer, or the premises where, after an intense night, visitors may find comfort for their souls with a “caldo verde” (green cabbage soup) and bread with artisanal
chouriço sausage.
Codfish and the Portuguese-style stew are the national dishes, which elaboration varies slightly from one region to
the other, but that are always present on the menu card.
OUT
In a nation always linked to the sea, other Lisbon specialities include seafood and fresh fishes. During the
summer, especially during the festivities honoring the Patron Saints (city festivals honoring “Saint Anthony of
Lisbon”), the smell of the grilled sardines spreads over Lisbon’s neighborhoods, that it even became an icon to the
city, present in innumerable souvenirs.
The Ginjinha do Rossio is a must for every visitor and the custard pies are the most famous of Portuguese sweets. Although many bakeries and cafes have their own recipe,
the original one is a secret of the Fábrica de Pastéis of Belém, where the custard tarts are eaten still warm and
powdered with sugar and cinnamon.

who try the flavours of Lisbon, will always return. Discover the

The Cidadela Art District will be a disruption
in the population’s daily routine that intends to offer contemporary art through the appropriation of non-sites and means associated with mass communication, promoting artistic development
as a facilitator for artists and galleries. There is a doubly subversive character in this
Art District, in on one hand it brings contemporary art into everyday life’s context; on the other, by using non-sites or transitional spaces, affirms an exceptional
character of true decontextualisation: former military barracks transformed in Studios for artistic residencies where the in loco creation is a constant dynamic, public
spaces of the Hotel transformed in exhibition areas, pop-up exhibitions and site-specific collaborations with national or international guest artists also happen
at the hotel common spaces along the year and some Hotel Rooms are now Author Rooms after being intervened by the artists. All this enables the exhibition
of contemporary art outside of its traditional grounds as well as promoting the usage of new sites never
connected with museological purposes before.

The tradition remains, and Cascais continues to be a destination for all those seeking a beach or wanting to practice one of the multiple water sports available on the coast, or to play golf or tennis, attend a motor sport event, visit the casino or simply relax. n the most unique and vibrant city of Portugal, the Pestana Palace of Freixo - Inn & National Monument, member of The Leading Hotels of the World, offers you a unique and absolutely memorable experience, surrounded in classic luxury and full of contemporary comfort.Located on the river that gives life to the best wine in the world, the Pestana Palácio do Freixo, arises serenely between French-style gardens and granite stonework. Classically luxurious and structurally unique, it consists of an 18th century palace and an 19th century building.
Indulge in the contrast of the Moroccan-inspired entrance room with the outside. This idiosyncrasy will accompany you throughout the hotel, as there are many spaces created originally by the great master of Italian baroque Nicolau Nasoni to the first owner, D. Jerónimo de Távora e Noronha; and many others recovered according to the taste of the second owner, António Afonso Velado, more extravagant and exotic in his decorative preferences.
Besides the architecture and the extraordinary work of recovery that was developed here, it is the service what stands out the Palácio do Freixo, truly personalized and attentive.
In the imposing building of the Harmonia mills, one can find the rooms, a more restrained space, calm and serene, in golden and brown hues, with a predominance of dark woods and classic decor. A true counterpoint to the magnificence of the Palace rooms, this environment calls for rest and privacy.
It is a monument to appreciate with plenty of time. In the large rooms of the 18th century building,
rich in details and fresco paintings or Oriental motives,
guests may admire the remarkable restoration work done by the architect
Fernando Távora.

RESTAURANT PALATIUM
In a room with the old fresco paintings of 1850 recovered by quenching, in a classic and sophisticated setting, take a trip around what the Porto - and Portuguese -
gastronomy has to offer. With fish and meat dishes, where preciosity is left at the door in order to make more
room for the certified origins or the products, you will find the always relevant seasonal offerings and the most
desirable raw materials. Wild sea bass and grouper just brought from the Atlantic; maronesa and arouquesa veal
calves raised in the Minho pastures; and techniques that seek a return to the culinary essential are of a deceptively
simple sophistication. And all dishes have matching suggestions to raise your meal to a truly aristocratic status.
In the adjacent rooms, where you can also dine or organize private dinners, you will find beautiful frescoed ceilings, which are reflected in the mirrored tables. This is where you can have an excellent breakfast with a huge selection
of fresh pastries and various newspapers for company. Here you can really live like the Viscount of Freixo, if he had known the advantages of continuous access

BAR NASONI
This bar, located in the fireplace room and adjacent, with its paintings by Júlio Resende and large windows with
a view on to the river, offers you many surprises and perfect indulgences to temper your stay.
Whether you prefer a lighter lunch or check in later and just want to regain your strengths, here you will find sophisticated, elegant and absolutely delicious options.
The carpaccio and ceviche are a must, as well
as sandwiches which always contain an ingredient that makes all the difference. The burgers, dubbed the classics,
are in fact absolutely musts and if you have a business lunch or want to invite someone from the city, the steaks
or pastas are an extremely safe option. The desserts, light and incisive, escape the classic and allow you to enjoy
your afternoon guilt free.
At night there is a different menu, much simpler in its gastronomic offer, as the restaurant Palatium has other options to enjoy. The best is to order an appetizer or one of the delicious cocktails or, of course, taste a Port

P
orto is the origin of Portugal’s name. Porto is one of the oldest Portuguese cities, and is also known as “Cidade Invicta”, because it has never beendefeated in battle by invading forces. The Historic Centre of Porto was declared a World Heritage in 1996. In 2012, Porto was distinguished as the Best European Destination. The city is known worldwide for its Port Wine, and for its old and contemporary architecture, and for the five bridges that define the historical epochs of the city. Next to the river and to the sea, Porto is a city of contrasts in which medieval arcades coexist with buildings such as the “Casa de Música”.
It is a captivating city, the character and the hospitality of its inhabitants invite one to visit it again and again.
The “Casa da Música” is located at the junction of the Rotunda and the Avenida da Boavista – a masterpiece of
the Dutch architect Rem Koolhas. It is one of the most important musical institutions in the country and no visitor
should miss it. Following the Avenida da Boavista, the points of interest succeed one another: from the coffee bars and the terraces to the small palaces that dominate
the second half of this avenue.
Halfway through, you can visit the Contemporary Art Museum of the Serralves Foundation, a work by the architect Siza Vieira, and spend some time in the magnificent gardens of the “Casa da Serralves”. From here,
you can opt to descend to the sea through the Avenida Marechal Gomes da Costa, or take the Avenida da Boavista,
crossing the immense city park, which leads to the sand of the “Castelo do Queijo” beach. Whatever your choice is, a wonderful sunset awaits you at any of the numerous
beaches of the Foz do Douro.

Embedded in the meanders of the Douro River and the traces of the city’s wall, the “Ribeira do Porto” invites one to take a walk to discover the narrow streets, stairs and small avenues in which it is still possible to sense
the authenticity of the inhabitants, the old houses and the small shops and restaurants, in a mosaic of sounds and smells which visitors will discover while they ascend
the hill towards the Cathedral.
It is said that the best views of Porto can be enjoyed from the “Ribeira de Gaia” and the “Serra do Pilar” Viewpoint. And it is true. Therefore, you should cross the
bridge that is already one of the city’s classic postcard sceneries the Dom Luís Bridge, and enjoy the view before
venturing into the succession of Port Wine Caves with their respective tastings. If you prefer something different,
accept the invitation of a boat trip on the Douro Region under the five bridges or beyond. In any case,
it is an excellent option for spendingvan afternoon or some days of relaxation on the Douro River.

The “Torre dos Clérigos” (Tower of Clerics) is an icon of the city - a baroque tower by Nicolau Nasoni. It is the starting point to discover many other nearby monuments. At the
end of the road, the S. Bento Station is famous for its panels with historic glazedtiles. Close to it are the “cadeia da Relação” (where the Portuguese Centre of Photography
is located) and the S. Bento da Vitória Monastery. Descending the road, the Stock Exchange Palace and the “Ordem Terceira de S. Francisco”, where visitors can admire
paintings, sculptures, jewelry and furniture.
Back to Cordoaria, the Lello Library and the Carmo and Carmelitas churches will attract the traveler’s attention.
Close to the “Pena Ventosa”, the Cathedral, the Santa Clara Convent and the “Fernandina” City Wall are the most

With sun, fog or even with rain, Porto must be visited on foot. Despite the ascents and descents, walking around
has compensations, with viewpoints and promontories with astonishing panoramic views and different
perspectives of the city, the river, the buildings or the sea. Take a cable car ride at the Ribeira de Gaia and climb to the Serra do Pilar or take the Guindais Funicular and save the climb from Ribeira to Batalha. Any of these two routes will
offer you the most beautiful views onto the river or the Foz. If you prefer the shadows and the freshness of nature,

In Porto, one can eat very well for little money. Moreover, it represents the gastronomic tradition of the North of the
Country. However, when talking about the gastronomy of Porto, it is mandatory to mention one of its main dishes: Tripe Porto style - a dish with history, which resulted in the
nickname of the inhabitants of Porto: “tripeiros”.
There is an immense variety of restaurants with an always friendly service and excellent atmosphere. From typical
cuisine to fusion cuisine, from a more traditional and familiar atmosphere to the more sophisticated designer
restaurants, a visit to Porto guarantees a gastronomic experience that will be etched in your memory.

To the endless varieties of codfish recipes Porto has added its own dish: Codfish ”Gomes de Sá” Style. Here,
the octopus is enjoyed fried, in fillets, and with “malandrinho” rice. The Douro table wines are excellent,
but during the meal, there will be always a moment for a Port Wine, whether as aperitif or during the dessert.
When taking part in a Port Wine tasting at the caves, never forget to buy a bottle.
During your stay, there should always be a moment to taste the traditional “Francesinha”, the recipe which was
created by a Portuguese emigrant in France. He prepared a secret sauce and conquered the palate and the heart of an entire city. A good “Francesinha” consists on a good loaf of bread stuffed with smoked meats and topped with
a smooth melted cheese. Some include eggs
and accompany it with French fries. The result is always a full meal that should be enjoyed with some time and in good company. It is an exclusive dish of Porto
and an invitation to socialize.

or those who really want to get to know the “Invicta”, the best way is undoubtedly by staying at the Pestana Vintage Porto Hotel & World Heritage Site. Created from the rebuilding of two blocks of buildings dating back to the sixteenth, seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, it is considered a World Heritage Site by virtue of the careful conservation of the buildings’ original features. Overlooking the river, the “Caves de Gaia” and the “Dom Luís Bridge”, it presents the main elements of the North to those who arrive: the Douro river, port wine and filigree. Exclusive, luxurious and secluded, the Pestana Vintage Porto is perfect for who want to discover a more sophisticated and different side of Portugal. With a very active cultural lifestyle, a gastronomic scene in constant renewal and a commercial environment that combines a vintage side with the most modern design, Porto is a real European hot city. It is this spirit that you will find during your stay - the original chairs designed by architect Fernando Távora, evoking the 50s, mixed with contemporary illustrations and retro reinterpretations of polaroids. The streets surrounding the hotel are very well known for the bohemian life and the nocturnal appeal. Besides the traditional precautions, the Pestana Vintage Porto has some closed windows and double insulation on the windows, to ensure you can make the most of the hours of rest when you’re in the room, while being in the center of the action. The rooms have a unique atmosphere, complemented
by superb views.
Allow yourself the pleasure of falling asleep and waking
up in the most emblematic scenery of the town.
In late July 2015, the hotel will have a total of 103 rooms
(51 current + 52 new wing), thus doubling its capacity.
D. Luís room

orto is the origin of Portugal’s name. Porto is one of the oldest Portuguese cities, and is also known as “Cidade Invicta”, because it has never been defeated in battle by invading forces. The Historic Centre of Porto was declared a World Heritage in 1996. In 2012, Porto was distinguished as the Best European Destination. The city is known worldwide for its Port Wine, and for its old and contemporary architecture, and for the five bridges that define the historical epochs of the city. Next to the river and to the sea, Porto is a city of contrasts in which medieval arcades coexist with buildings such as the “Casa de Música”.It is a captivating city, the character and the hospitality of its inhabitants invite one to visit it again and again.

Close to the “Pena Ventosa”, the Cathedral, the Santa Clara Convent and the “Fernandina” City Wall are the most
distinctive features. There is so much more to see within a range of only a few kilometers by foot: The National
Soares dos Reis Museum, the Port Wine Museum and the “Casa do Infante”.

If you prefer the shadows and the freshness of nature,
Porto will offer you its generous parks and romantic gardens. Follow the Gardens of Cordoaria, famous for its statues, until you reach the Gardens of the Crystal Palace
and from there go to the Botanical Garden in Campo Alegre, and the Pastelaria Park and finally rest in the Parque
da Cidade but only after having reached the sea.
