O programa de treinamento aeróbio adotado demonstrou ser eficiente em reduzir os níveis de TNF-α no músculo sóleo, bem como aumentar os níveis de IL-10 no mesmo tecido, sem alterar esses parâmetros no músculo EDL. Por sua vez, esse efeito ficou apenas evidente no grupo de animais com IC secundária a IM, sugerindo que o “efeito antiinflamatório” induzido pelo treinamento físico, parece com mais evidência em condições onde há o predomínio das citocinas pró-inflamatórios, como na ICC.

Portanto, treinamento aeróbio moderado (55-65% VO2max) pode ser uma

alternativa não farmacológica adicional para ser administrado em alguns quadros patológicos em que predominam as alterações crônicas do TNF-α.
