O presente trabalho conclui que:

 Foram identificadas todas as espécies do complexo C. parapsilosis no grupo amostral trabalhado, sendo que a prevalência de C. parapsilosis stricto sensu foi a mais expressiva;

 A técnica de identificação com o gene SADH mostrou-se mais eficiente que a de marcadores microssatélites na identificação de espécies do complexo C. parapsilosis.

 As espécies de C. parapsilosis apresentam comportamento diferente quanto às propriedades e fatores de virulência, demonstrando grande variação na virulência em isolados pertencentes a mesma espécie;

 Isolados de C. parapsilosis provenientes de urina foram os que apresentaram maior quantidade de fatores de virulência e os isolados de secreção vaginal foram os que apresentaram formação de biofilme superior aos demais sítios;

 Encontrou-se correlação positiva dos isolados entre as propriedades de virulência adesão e biofilme;

 Não foi identificada associação entre espécie do complexo C. parapsilosis e o sítio anatômico colonizado, nem das espécies e as propriedades e fatores de virulência.
