A priori acredito que este estudo mostrou a relevância de uma perspectiva interacional na abordagem da afasia. No que tange a co-construção de identidades de pessoas com afasia na interação face-a-face, este estudo revelou que nem todas as pessoas que apresentam afasia ratificam a identidade de doente que a sociedade projeta para essas pessoas. Todavia, mostrou relevância de se levar em consideração o contexto social, demonstrando que uma das participantes assume a identidade de doente apenas em contextos não familiares. Por outro lado, o estudo não negligenciou as identidades construídas que não consistem na identidade de doente, mas se aproximam da mesma, trazendo exemplos dessas identidades. Apresentou, também, exemplos que mostram que mesmo tendo sido acometidas por AVC e ficado com seqüelas (lingüísticas e motoras) as pessoas com afasia são capazes de construir identidade de saudável/competente. Além disso, o estudo mostrou um caso de desconstrução de identidade.
Em relação à comunicação das pessoas com afasia, este estudo trouxe exemplos que iluminam o fato de existirem outros recursos (não verbais) disponíveis, através dos quais essas pessoas podem se fazer entender. Mostrou, também, a importância das pistas de contextualização, diante da escassez de recursos lingüísticos, para construção de inferências situadas; e a importância da organização seqüencial da conversa, diante dessa mesma escassez, para a construção de contextos para o entendimento das elocuções.
Enfim, espero que este trabalho possa ter contribuído para a consolidação de uma linha de pesquisa que defende a interface - Linguagem e Interação, tendo como foco os distúrbios de linguagem.
