6.4 Direções futuras e Considerações Finais

Dadas as limitações apresentadas neste trabalho, a realização de novas pesquisas se faz necessário, até mesmo em função do caráter exploratório deste estudo. Como possibilidades futuras, cabe considerar que alguns parâmetros da escala de atitudes frente à violência sexual contra a mulher não se mostraram totalmente adequados, mas foram apenas marginalmente aceitáveis (e.g., AGFI, CFI, RMSEA). Com isso, se faz necessário o desenvolvimento de novos estudos com esta medida, considerando amostras maiores e diversificadas. Deste modo, seria pertinente a aplicação do instrumento em outras regiões brasileiras, uma vez que a amostra se restringiu ao contexto nordestino.

167 Em oportunidades futuras, seria interessante ter em conta pessoas de diferentes estratos sociais, uma vez que estudos mostram que as atitudes em relação à violência contra a mulher variam em função da classe social. Estudos deste cunho, além de verificar a influência destas variáveis nas atitudes de suporte à violência seriam importantes para verificar a invariância fatorial das medidas, isto é, se são adequadas para avaliar as atitudes independente do grupo estudado. Ademais, poderiam ser consideradas também amostras de agressores com o intuito de verificar o caráter preditivo dos instrumentos.

Tomando em consideração o fato de não ter sido observado relação entre as atitudes e a desumanização da mulher, algo que vinha sendo demonstrado em estudos prévios (Rudman & Mecher, 2012; Vaes et al., 2011), é importante considerar amostras com maior variabilidade que as utilizadas na presente dissertação. Poderia se pensar na aplicação de uma escala de desejabilidade social junto com a de atitudes ou mesmo no desenvolvimento de uma medida implícita de avaliação das atitudes frente à violência contra a mulher, o que reduziria a desejabilidade social implicada nas repostas (Gouveia, Athayde, Mendes, & Freire, 2011). Além disso, tendo em vista que correlações encontradas entre medidas explícita e implícita são baixas (Fazio & Olson, 2003), o desenvolvimento de estudos utilizando apenas medidas implícitas poderia fornecer indicadores mais confiáveis quanto à relação destes construtos. Ademais, seria interessante a realização de novos estudos levando em conta outros potenciais preditores das atitudes de suporte à violência, como traços de personalidade, sexismo, autoritarismo e orientação à dominância social.

Diante dos resultados ora apresentados, confia-se ter contribuído para a literatura sobre a violência contra a mulher no contexto nacional. Sabe-se que esta temática, sobretudo no que diz respeito ao estudo das atitudes frente á violência contra a mulher, ainda é pouco explorada. Neste âmbito, apresentar variáveis correlatas de tais atitudes, configura-se como um passo importante. Não obstante, não foi propósito deste estudo esgotar o debate em torno

168 da relação entre as variáveis tratadas. Ao contrário, espera-se que este trabalho possa suscitar novos questionamentos a respeito do tema e auxiliar no desenvolvimento de novas pesquisas sobre a violência contra a mulher.
