6. CONCLUSÃO

6.1 Perspectivas futuras

Esta dissertação trata da expressão de um gene de cana com alta similaridade a genes de HOP de outros organismos. A proteína foi expressa e sua caracterização conformacional mostra que a mesma é estável e tem características já relatadas para proteínas HOP de outros organismos. O próximo passo neste estudo envolve a caracterização funcional desta co-chaperona, a qual atua na modulação das atividades da Hsp90. Portanto, os próximos passos envolvem a caracterização da interação da HOP com a Hsp90. Idealmente devem ser medidas as constantes desta interação para obter informações sobre a afinidade e estequiometria da mesma. Em seguida, deve-se caracterizar como esta interação afeta a Hsp90 e para tanto pode-se avaliar os efeitos nas atividades ATPásica e chaperona desta proteína. O nosso grupo de pesquisa é

especialista nestes experimentos mas podemos considerar outros ensaios que podem ser realizados em colaboração como por exemplo a cristalização e obtenção da estrutura em alta resolução tanto da HOP isolada quanto do complexo Hsp90/HOP.
