Variations.

(Fig. 19)

Holotype : ld\ MADAGASCAR [TANA- NARIVE], LaMandraka, 2.iv.l991, forêt, fauchoir (A.Pauly col.)

Diagnose.

Description [texte original de Pesenko en anglais].

Mâle.

« Structure. Lenght 4.2-4.4 mm. Head flattened, rounded in frontal view ; as high as wide

or slightly higher. Face strongly impressed on the level of antennal sockets. Ocellar élévation distinct Médial clypeal lobe weakly convex ; its height/width ratio 0.95. Clypeus projecting 0.55- 0.60 of its height below lower inargin of eyes.

Supraclypeal area convex, before its upper border with veiy small rounded tubercle. Malar space linear.

Inner orbits with relatively deep triangular notch ; its depth about 0.4 of maximal (extrapolated) ocular width in frontal view; paraocular area in the notch distinctly projected as shiny tubercle.

Longitudinal carina between antennal sockets absent.

Frontal line indistinct. Mandibles with subapical dens.

Antennae relatively long, reaching the end of mesosoma. First flagomere 2.5 times shorter than second one ; second flagomere 1.2 times shorter than subséquent ones, their lenght/diameter ratio 1.2.

Scutellum convex. Metapostnotum crescent- shaped, distinctly impressed, bordered laterally and posteriorly by distinct change of sculpture and rounded élévation. Horizontal surface of propodeum slightly (1.1 times) longer than scutellum, forming with posterior vertical surface a rounded angle of about 135’. Marginal cell of forewing relatively narrow, very narrowly rounded at distal end ; second marginal cell trapezoidally triangle (almost triangle).

Hind wings with six distal hamuli on anterior inargin.

Metasoma moderatly convex, inversely lanceolate, metasomal tergum 6 enlarged, broadly rounded at posterior end. Postgradular areas of terga 2-4 strongly convex. Posterior marginal areas of terga flattened, distinctly separated from postgradular areas ; ones of terga 1 and 2 narrow, ones of terga 3 and 4 relatively broad. Posterior margins of metasomal stema 2-5 straight. Posterior margin of metasomal sternum 7 strongly protuberant medially. Apical lobe of sternum 8 triangularly trapezoidal (fig. f). Génital foramen rounded ; médian gonobase suture présent partly ; posterior margin of gonobase bow- shaped on dorsal surface ; ventral gonobasal bridge moderatly broadened in the middle, situated behind ventral gonocoxal bridge ; gonostyli trapezoidally broadened apically, relatively simple, hairless ; pénis valves broadened medially, with large rounded wing-shaped latéral laminae.

Sculpture. Clypeus dully shiny, excepting shiny upper fifth, obscurely granulate with several raunded pits on dark parts. Supraclypeal area silk- dull, densely superfïcially finely granulate. Frons and vertex dull, densely granuloso-punctate. Gênai areas shiny, obscurely striate, with not dense, irregular and indistinct punctation on upper part behind eyes.

Scutum silk-dull, uniformly densely granulate (each granula equal to eye facet). Scutellum shiny, with sparse fine variable punctation, interspaces polislied.

Metapostnotum

dull, with dense fine longitudinal ruguloses throughout or only laterally and granulate medially.

Adjaccent parts of horizontal surface propodeum and its latéral surfaces dull, densely and very finely granulate ; its posterior vertical surface dull, granulate, with several strong oblique rugoses. Mes- and metepisterna silk dull, superfïcially, finely and densely granulate. Metasomal tergum 1 and postgradular area of terga 2 and 3, densely granulate, these area of suceeding terga becoming shiny ; posterior marginal area of terga shiny, obscurely transverse striate.

Coloration. Black without metallic tints.

Pale integumental marking poor. The following parts whitish : médian spot on labrum ; variable anchor-shaped figure on clypeus; posterior lobes and spots on collar of pronotumlar crests (sometimes partly) ; médian part of metanotum ; pro- and mesobasitibial plates ; very narrow and interrupted medially transverse bands on posterior part of pregradular area of metasomal terga 2 and 3 or only tergum 2. Scapi and pedicels black ; flagella dark brown on lower surface and black on upper surface.

Wing membranes and tegulae distinctly infiiscated ; tegulae, veins and stigmae dark brown. Legs dark brown. Posterior marginal area of metasomal terga brownish translucent.

Vestiture. White, short, not dense, erect, slightly plumose ; relatively long arround antennal sockets, on vertex, gênai areas, and metanotum.

Plumose adpressed hairs absent. » Femelle.

« Structure. Lenght 4.8-5.0 mm. Head flattened, rounded in frontal view ; its height/width ratio 0.94-0.98. Face distinctly and broadly impressed laterally and above antennal sockets. Ocellar élévation distinct, but weak. Médial clypeal lobe flattened, its height/width ratio 0.6. Clypeus projecting 0.75 of its height below lower margin of eyes. Supraclypeal area convex. Malar space linear. Inner orbits with weak rounded notch ; its depth about 0.2 of maximal (extrapolated) ocular width in frontal view; paraocular area in the notch fiat. Longitudinal carina between antennal sockets strong. Frontal line developped.

Scutellum convex. Metapostnotum triangularly crescent-shaped, slightly impressed, bordered by change in sculpture and weak élévation, medially reaching to posterior vertical surface of propodeum.

Horizontal surface of propodeum as long as scutellum, formings with posterior vertical surface a rounded angle of about 135’. Wing venation similar to that in male, excepting variable number of distal hamuli of hind wings (6-7). Inner metatibial spurs with three teeth. Metasoma flattened, broadly inversely lanceolate; postgradular areas of metasomal terga 2-3 broadly convex, posterior marginal areas of

terga relatively broad, distinctly separated from postgradular areas by dépréssion.

Sculpture. Clypeus polished on pale parts ; its dark parts and supraclypeal area densely and very finely granulate with several superficial pits. Frons and vertex dull, granuloso-shagreened. Genal areas silk-shiny, punctate on upper part behind eyes and longitudinally distinet striate near probscidial cavity.
