To send and receive SMS messages, the outgoing SMS center number (1717) and the incoming SMS center number (01717) must be set in your Twist 495 (see page 26). These numbers are set by default in the phone. You can send text messages without additional settings. To receive SMS messages, your telephone number must be registered with one (or more) SMS box numbers. This understanding of the subaddress of an SMS box can be compared to mailboxes of different houses.
When the sender sends you an SMS from GSM, he must add the sub-address of the SMS mailbox where he wants to send it. If he does not add this number, Belgacom will automatically send an SMS to mailbox 0, so we advise you to always use the sub-address 0 in one phone (the default sub-address is 0 (zero)). Enter the phone number directly and press OK or press to recall the number from the phonebook.
