APRESENTAÇÃO
Levando-se em conta o perfil do aluno que está entrando em contato com a língua inglesa pela primeira vez e também as dificuldades que os professores de uma segunda língua enfrentam em sala de aula, optou-se por elaborar este caderno pedagógico que pretende tirar proveito da motivação característica dos alunos iniciantes no aprendizado do inglês, elaborando-se atividades que exploram o lúdico, objetivando-se que esse entusiasmo inicial se estenda para as séries seguintes.
Este material visa contribuir com a aprendizagem da língua inglesa, apresentando como foco principal o ensino do vocabulário por meio de atividades motivadoras e significativas que estabeleçam uma interação maior dos alunos entre si e entre o professor e que proporcione uma aprendizagem prazerosa e efetiva.
Os temas escolhidos, bem como a seqüência na utilização dos mesmos, partiu dos conteúdos elencados como essenciais para a 5ª série do Ensino Fundamental, além de focarem a apropriação do vocabulário como ponto de partida para o avanço na aquisição de uma segunda língua.
Foi elaborado de acordo com as orientações contidas nas Diretrizes Curriculares Educacionais, observando-se também a realidade sócio-econômica e cultural do Paraná, mais especificamente das cidades de Ibiporã e Londrina.
A fim de familiarizar o aluno com este material, optou-se por criar um personagem que atuará como elemento facilitador na apresentação dos conteúdos e na realização das atividades.
O presente Caderno Pedagógico é composto por seis unidades didáticas que contemplam a motivação através da música e dos jogos para a aquisição de vocabulário para alunos de 5ª e 6ª séries.
O ensino do vocabulário em todas as unidades deste caderno pedagógico é apresentado por meio de ilustrações, complementado com a utilização de dicionários TV pen drive, dvd, rádio , internet e reforçado através de atividades significativas. Neste material, as atividades elaboradas seguem um roteiro para suas realizações.
LET’S TALK ABOUT IT – Introdução ao tema proposto com questionamentos que
ora objetivam a interdisciplinaridade, ora objetivam trazer a tona o conhecimento de mundo do aluno, estabelecer a interação entre alunos, o material elaborado e a aquisição de vocabulário.
LET’S READ – Leituras breves na Língua Inglesa que determinam o ponto de
partida para o estudo do vocabulário.
LET’S UNDERSTAND THE TEXT – Questões para reflexões que vão, muitas vezes,
além do texto.
PRACTICE – Realização de atividades relacionadas à aquisição do vocabulário
apresentando questões variadas, lúdicas e significativas.
LET’S PLAY – Jogos que têm o intuito de motivar despertando o enteresse do aluno
e também fixar o vocabulário estudado.
Todos os jogos trazem instruções de como realizá-los que tanto servem para o professor quanto para os alunos.
LET’S SING – Musicas e sugestões relacionadas aos temas estudados que visam a
motivação dos alunos e aquisição do vocabulário de forma lúdica e prazerosa.
PROJECT WORK – Apresentação de um trabalho, pelos alunos envolvidos no
projeto PDE como conclusão da conteúdo trabalhado, onde, deverão de forma prática, apresentar para a comunidade escolar o conteúdo trabalhado durante o projeto
THINK ABOUT IT – São frases, ditados populares, pensamentos, que nos remetem
a alguma situação conflitante em nossa sociedade, que nos fazem pensar e imaginar possíveis soluções
TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THE TOPIC – Apresenta sugestões de mais atividades
geralmente encontradas na Internet para pesquisa extra-classe.
Esperamos que este material possa contribuir para estimular o aprendizado dos alunos e despertar o interesse pela Língua Inglesa. Um bom trabalho a todos!

Jonathan and his friend were worried about some animals because they are endangered. They searched at the Net and found some news about endangered animals.

Brazil's endangered species list triples in size
Deforestation and illegal animal trade have done enormous damage to the species of Brazil over the last 20 years. The country's list of endangered animals now stands at 627 species -- 288% higher than the 218 species that were on the same list in 1989.
Environment Minister Carlos Minc said "Industry is expanding, agriculture is expanding, people are occupying protected areas and our conservation units do not have the protection needed," but "We'll fight to remove the largest number of species possible from that list."

Em pares os alunos preenchem o quadro com os nomes de 5 animais em extinção, escrevendo uma letra em cada quadrado. Depois preenchem o restante dos quadrados aleatoriamente com letras do alfabeto. Os pares trocam os caça-palavras entre si e os resolvem. Vence o jogo o par de alunos que terminar de resolver primeiro os caça-palavras.
2) Let’s play Bingo!
O professor escreve no quadro nomes de vários animais em Português. O aluno copia apenas nove nomes de modo a preencher a cartela acima. O professor dirá os
nomes dos animais em Inglês e o aluno marcará os que tiver em sua cartela. O vencedor será o aluno que terminar de marcar a cartela toda primeira.
3) Stop Game: Work in groups.

Grupos de 3 ou 4 alunos. O grupo escolhe uma letra e todos os participantes preenchem a tabela com palavras que têm aquela letra como inicial. O aluno que preencher antes, deverá fizer STOP e os outros deverão parar de escrever
imediatamente. Contagem de pontos: 10 pontos para cada palavra diferente das de todos os outros participantes; 5 pontos para cada palavra correta; 0 ponto para espaço em branco. Vencerá o jogo o aluno que obtiver o maior número de pontos.

Grupos de 4 ou 5 alunos. Cada grupo deverá construir uma maquete representando uma das categorias de animais estudados. Deverá utilizar materiais diversificados e colocar plaquinhas com os nomes dos animais em Inglês. Ao final do trabalho, os alunos deverão apresentá-lo aos demais colegas de sala.
