My birthday adventure

Hi! My name’s Alex. Last year I wanted to do something exciting for my birthday. I decided to camp in the woods with my best friend, Ollie.

Ollie arrived at my house at three o’clock in the afternoon, and we started our journey. We hiked through the woods, and looked for a good place to camp. Suddenly, I fell over, and sprained my ankle. Ollie was very helpful. He told me to sit down, and he put up the tent.

Soon it was time for dinner. I had some sausages and bread in my bag, and Ollie had some bacon and beans. We tried to make a fire, but it didn’t work. In the end, we had bread and water for my birthday dinner!

After dinner, Ollie and I got into the tent, and we told scary stories. Then we heard a noise outside the tent. We were very scared, and we wanted to go home, so I phoned my dad.

When Dad arrived, he found the scary monster outside our tent – it was just a mouse!
