REPORT OF THE AWARD COMMITTEE OF THE PAHO AWARD FOR ADMINISTRATION, 1996
The Award Committee of the PAHO Award for Administration, 1996, met on 25 June during the 118th Meeting of the Executive Committee. After examining the information on the candidates nominated by Member Governments, the Committee decided to confer the Award for 1996 on Ms. Michaela M. Storr of the Bahamas for her work at the grassroots level in developing an integrated local health system and for the introduction of innovative systems for the management of hospitals.
The Executive Committee considered the report of the Award Committee (Annex) and approved the proposed resolution (CEl18.R7):
THE 118th MEETING OF THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE,
Having examined the report of the Award Committee of the PAHO Award for Administration, 1996 (Document CE118/7, Add. I); and
Considering that the criteria and procedures for conferring the PAHO Award for Administration need to be updated to reflect changes in the administration and delivery of health care and to facilitate the work of the Award Committee,
RESOLVES:
1. To note the decision of the Award Committee to confer the PAHO Award for Administration, 1996 on Ms. Michaela M. Storr of the Bahamas, for her work at the grassroots level in developing an integrated local health system and for the introduction of innovative systems for the management of hospitals.

2. To transmit the report of the Award Committee of the PAHO Award for Administration, 1996 (Document CE118/7, Add. I) to the XXXIX Meeting of the Directing Council.
3. To request the Director to review the criteria and procedures for the presentation of candidates for the PAHO Award for Administration.
The Award will be conferred on Ms. Michaela M. Storr in a ceremony to be held during the XXXIX Meeting of the Directing Council.

Report of the Award Committee
The Award Committee for the PAHO Award in Administration, 1996, was comprised of Mr. Nick Previsich (Canada), Dr. Juan Ignacio Barrios Arce (Costa Rica), and Dr. Alejandro Gherardi (Uruguay).
The Committee met on 25 June 1996 under the chairmanship of Dr. Alejandro Gherardi and examined the information on the candidates nominated by Member Governments, namely:
