Within the FIA Environmental Certification Framework, Automóvel Club de Portugal, as organizer of Vodafone Rally de Portugal, will make every effort to revalidate the Achievement of Excellence accreditation for the World Rally Championship in 2019.

It is the organization’s aim to continue to improve work to minimize the environmental impact of the event by continuing and extending the implementation of measures in accordance with the FIA’s sustainability program.

As one of the WRC events with more spectators, Vodafone Rally de Portugal seeks to set an example in terms of environmental policy both nationally and internationally. In this context, the organization will continue its work in partnership with the Ministry of the Environment, through the Portuguese Environment Agency, to reduce the environmental impacts caused by the event. Thus, Vodafone Rally of Portugal will consciously make every effort to minimize the environmental impact by putting into practice the following actions:

a) Respect all environmental laws and regulations and other requirements, as well as the FIA Environmental Certification Framework.

b) Disseminate and promote environmental awareness among the different agents (organization, drivers and all teams involved, and spectators);

c) Consider environmental work and environmental impact in choosing partners and suppliers and look for products and services that guarantee a good environmental performance; e) Reduce, as far as possible, the environmental impact regarding

transport by encouraging Car Pooling and Car Sharing as well as the use of public or other transport;

f) Prefer, whenever possible, renewable energy sources;

g) Continue to implement measures and establish partnerships to increase and improve the selective collection of waste as well as the correct and appropriate disposal of waste;

h) To promote and improve our environmental responsibilities based on structured and planned tasks;

i) Involve all local authorities in the rally crossing areas.

j) Continue to reduce the maximum number of paper documents by giving priority to the use and consultation of documents in digital formats;

k) Encourage the reduction of the use of plastic and disposable products, giving preference to recyclable and reusable products; l) Promote the use of public water, which in Portugal is of high

quality.

Vodafone Rally de Portugal Environmental Policy

No âmbito do Quadro de Certificação Ambiental FIA, o Automóvel Club de Portugal, enquanto organizador do Vodafone Rally de Portugal, irá enveredar todos os esforços para revalidar a acreditação Achievement of Excellence para o Campeonato do Mundo de Ralis, em 2019. É objetivo da organização continuar a melhorar o trabalho no sentido de minimizar o impacte ambiental do evento, prosseguindo e alargando a implementação de medidas em conformidade com o programa de sustentabilidade da FIA.

Sendo uma das provas do WRC com mais espectadores, o Vodafone Rally de Portugal procura constituir um exemplo em termos de política ambiental quer a nível nacional quer em termos internacionais. Neste contexto, a organização vai continuar o seu trabalho de parceria com o Ministério do Ambiente, através da Agência Portuguesa do Ambiente, de forma a reduzir os impactos ambientais causados pela prova. Assim, o Vodafone Rally de Portugal irá, de forma consciente, levar a cabo todos os esforços para que o impacto ambiental seja minimizado colocando em prática as seguintes ações:

a) Respeitar todas as leis e regulações ambientais e outros requisitos, bem como o Quadro de Certificação Ambiental da FIA. b) Divulgar e promover o conhecimento ambiental junto dos diferentes agentes (organização, pilotos e todas as equipas

envolvidas, e espectadores);

c) Levar em linha de conta o trabalho ambiental e o impacte ambiental na escolha de parceiros e fornecedores e procurar produtos e serviços que garantam um bom desempenho ambiental; e) Reduzir, tanto quanto possível, o impacte ambiental no que respeita aos transportes, incentivando o Car Pooling e o Car Sharing, bem como a utilização de transportes públicos ou outros; f) Preferir, sempre que possível, fontes de energia renováveis; g) Continuar a implementar medidas e estabelecer parcerias para aumentar e melhorar a recolha seletiva do lixo, bem como a

eliminação correta e adequada do mesmo;

h) Fomentar e melhorar as nossas responsabilidades ambientais com base em tarefas estruturadas e planeadas;

i) Envolver todas as autoridades locais das zonas de passagem do rali.

j) Continuar a reduzir ao máximo o número de documentos impressos em papel, privilegiando a utilização e consulta de documentos em formatos digitais;

k) Fomentar a redução do uso de plástico e de produtos descar- táveis, dando preferência a produtos recicláveis e reutilizáveis; l) Fomentar o uso de água da rede pública, que em Portugal

é de elevada qualidade.

4 Introdução e boas vindas

Seja muito bem-vindo à 53ª edição do Rally de Portugal, disputada entre 30 de maio e 2 de junho de 2019, no Norte e Centro do País.

O Automóvel Club de Portugal decidiu levar a Coimbra o WRC Vodafone Rally de Portugal, cidade que será o palco da Cerimónia de Partida. O espetáculo do Rally terá lugar na zona da Porta Férrea, dando a possibilidade, sobretudo aos alunos da Universidade, de verem em primeira mão os fantásticos carros que participam na etapa nacional do Campeonato do Mundo de Ralis.

Este ano, a prova vai também passar pelos memoráveis troços da Lousã, Góis e Arganil. Na sequência da dupla passagem por essas classificativas, onde se escreveram grandes páginas da história do Rally de Portugal, o primeiro dia termina com a única Super Especial do Rally, que volta a disputar-se no Eurocircuito de Lousada.

Uma edição do Vodafone Rally de Portugal com muitas estreias, mas também a manutenção essencial da base operacional da prova na Exponor, em Matosinhos, e a permanência no programa da maioria das muito competitivas classificativas do Norte.

Assim, o dia de sábado apresenta também algumas alterações, desde logo a classificativa de Vieira do Minho que ganha cerca de 4 km na parte inicial. Os troços de Cabeceiras de Basto e Amarante permanecem inalterados. Fafe continua a ser o prato forte do último dia de competição, com a segunda passagem em formato de Power Stage. Montim conta com duas passagens, enquanto Luílhas se disputa uma única vez. A cerimónia de pódio final acontece junto ao mar, em Matosinhos, para gáudio dos milhares de fãs da etapa portuguesa. A evolução dos carros e as alterações das equipas, estas últimas com um alinhamento profundamente alterado, são também novidades de peso desta edição e que seguramente vão proporcionar emoções acrescidas aos adeptos do WRC.

As alterações no WRC 2, com a divisão em duas categorias - Pro, reservada às viaturas R5 das equipas oficiais e a “normal”, reservada aos privados - prometem também novos motivos de interesse a uma competição já de si emocionante.

O Vodafone Rally de Portugal permanece no calendário do Campeonato de Portugal de Ralis e da Peugeot Rally Cup Ibérica.

Uma palavra de agradecimento para o indispensável apoio dos patrocinadores Vodafone, BP, Hertz e Skoda. Bem como para o empenho e esforço das câmaras municipais de Amarante, Arganil, Cabeceiras de Basto, Coimbra, Fafe, Góis, Lousã, Lousada, Matosinhos, Mondim de Basto, Paredes e Vieira do Minho.

O Rally conta com o envolvimento do Turismo do Porto e Norte e agora também com o apoio do Turismo do Centro.

Por último, um tema fundamental para o sucesso da nossa prova do Mundial de Ralis: a segurança. O enorme entusiasmo que rodeia esta competição deve ser uma imagem de marca do desporto e do turismo nacionais. Só com o compromisso de todos será possível termos o WRC Vodafone Rally de Portugal coroado de sucesso.

Introduction and welcome

Welcome to the 53rd_{Vodafone Rally de Portugal, held between May 30}th_{and June 2}nd_{, on the North and Centre of the Country.}

The Automóvel Club de Portugal has decided to take the WRC Vodafone Rally de Portugal to Coimbra, city in which the Ceremonial Start will be held. The show will take place in the Porta Férrea area, offering the students the possibility of witnessing first hand the cars participating on the national round of the World Rally Championship.

This year the event will also run through the memorable Lousã, Góis and Arganil stages. After a double loop over these tests, in which great pages of the Rally’s history were written, the first day will end in Lousada’s Eurocicuito with the sole Super Special of the Rally.

A Vodafone Rally de Portugal with lots of changes, but also with Exponor, in Matosinhos, remaining as the Rally’s headquarters. At the same time, the majority of the very competitive stages of the North of the country remain on the Rally’s programme.

Therefor, saturday also presents a few changes, starting with the Vieira do Minho test, roughly 4 km longer at the start. The Cabeceiras de Basto and Amarante stages remain the same.

The Fafe stage continues to be the main test of the Rally’s last day, Sunday, with the second passage held as Power Stage. Montim will be run twice, while Luílhas will see the WRC action just once. The podium ceremony will take place by the sea, in Matosinhos, for the joy of all the fans. The evolution of the cars and teams changes, the later with great line-up changes, are other novelties in this year’s edition and will surely offer extra thrills to the WRC fans.

The changes to the WRC 2, with the split into two categories – Pro, reserved to R5 cars from official teams, and the “normal” one, reserved to private entrants – will bring added interest to an already exciting competition.

The Vodafone Rally de Portugal remains on the Portugal Rally Championship, as well as on the Peugeot Rally Cup Ibéria.

A word of appreciation for the essential support of the sponsors – Vodafone, BP, Hertz, and Skoda. Likewise, a recognition for the commitment and effort of the municipalities of Amarante, Arganil, Cabeceiras de Basto, Coimbra, Fafe, Góis, Lousã, Lousada, Matosinhos, Mondim de Basto, Paredes and Vieira do Minho. This edition of the Vodafone Rally de Portugal will also count with the involvement of the Turismo Porto e Norte, and now also with the support of the Turismo do Centro.

At last but not least, a very relevant issue to the success of the Rally de Portugal: the safety of the event and, particularly, the safety of spectators. The huge popular enthusiasm stirred by the Rally de Portugal should always be an added value to national sport and tourism. Only with the commitment of all the WRC Vodafone Rally de Portugal will be crowned with success.
