Procedures and documentation for publishing Reports,

Manuals, etc.

The INPE Digital Library publishes a serie of other documents, such as:

Preprint (ePrint): preliminary versions of the papers, before being published in a journal or in a conference.

Research data: primary or secondary data used in research analysis.

Research reports (RPQ): results or progress of researches, both technical and of scientific nature.

Technical-Scientific Notes (NTC): preliminary results of technical or scientific research such as an equipment description, documentation of computer pro- grams, systems, experiments, and engineering projects.

Project proposals and reports (PRP): proposals for technical-scientific pro- jects and monitoring reports of projects, activities, and agreements.

Didactic publications (PUD): handouts, lecture notes, and textbooks.

Technical manuals (MAN): technical publications that include standards, pro- cedures, instructions, and guidelines. In the text must be highlighted the pur- pose, instructions for use, examples for better understanding, and instructions for updating.

Computer programs (PDC): contains a sequence of instructions or codes, ex- pressed in a compiled or interpreted programming language, to be executed by a computer. The INPE Digital Lybrary accept both source code.

The computer programs must be submitted separately in the Digital Library as Technical-Scientific Note (NTC). The registration of a computer program assu- res copyright to the authors for use, and commercialization according to the National Institute of Industrial Patents (INPI). To register a computer program, access: www.inpi.gov.br.

Documents of institutional programs or activities: a set of internal technical- scientific documents, prepared within INPE Institutional Programs or Activities of INPE. Each Program or Activity may identify its documents by particular acronym and may have its own rules for preparation.

Support material for oral presentation (MAO): audiovisual material of any format (PowerPoint, PDF, Video, etc.) of papers presented at internal and ex- ternal conferences.

Serial publications: bulletins, magazines, yearbooks, and conference procee- dings. They allow the gathering of related papers in individual volumes, with a defined frequency. These publications may receive an International Standard Serial Number (ISSN), which is a unique and definitive code for their identifi- cation

RPQ: must follow the ABNT standard for publication.

NTC, PRP, MAN, PUD, PDC, Documents of institutional programs or activi- ties: the use of ABNT standards is optional.

ePrint, MAO e PCD: You don't need any permission from other parties to pub- lish

SUBMISSION PROCEDURE 1. Access: www.inpe.br/biblioteca.

2. Select Editoração

3. Select the option “Submissão de Publicações” and then select what kind of publication you want to issue.

SUBMISSION PROCEDURE 4. Fill out the form (mandatory items have an asterisk).

5. Attach the PDF document file by clicking "Escolher arquivo"

6. In the e-mail (login) field, type your INPE e-mail ([email protected]).

7. In Senha field, create a password and repeat it in the field below.

8. Below the copyright text, tick: “Aceito as condições acima sobre direitos au- torais” (I accept the above conditions regarding copyrights).

8. Click on Salvar/Sair.

Once you have uploaded the file in the INPE Digital Library, contact the Li- brary's technical-scientific Memory Sector ([email protected]) requesting the pu- blication of the document.

The Library will send you the Term of Legal Deposit and Authorization for Pu- blication (Termo para o Depósito Legal — INPE-565).

You must fill, sign, and send the Term to the Library.

The Library will fill the form "Autorização para publicação" (INPE-106) and send it, via SEI for signature collection from:

Divison head;

Field Coordinator.

Once the signatures are collected, the document is ready to entry the Edi- ting process for inclusion of cover, cover back, and bookmarks.

Once the editing is completed, the last steps are:

Review of the PDF cover and metadata in the Digital Library

Publication of the document in the INPE Digital Library.

Obs: Once the document is published, the author will receive an e-mail notification with the publication access link.
