INTERIM FINANCIAL REPORT OF THE DIRECTOR FOR 1994

The Director has the honor to present the Interim Financial Report of the Director for 1994 (Official Document 268, distributed separately). The Report contains the details of the financial transactions of the Pan American Health Organization for the period 1 January 1994 to 31 December 1994 and statements depicting the financial position of the Organization as of 31 December 1994. It also includes financial statements for the Caribbean Epidemiology Center (CAREC), the Caribbean Food and Nutrition Institute (CFNI), and the Institute of Nutrition of Central America and Panama (INCAP), as well as a report from the Organization's external auditor on INCAP.

The financial positions of the Pan American Health Organization and INCAP remain sound. CFNI has improved its financial position, while CAREC's has deteriorated during 1994 due to non-receipt of quota assessments. The Director strongly encourages all participating countries to pay their contributions in a timely manner.
