PAH0 AWARD FOR ADMINISTRATION

At its 72nd Meeting, the Executive Committee received from the Award Committee of the PAHO Award for Administration a report unanimously declaring the competition for 1974 void.

In accordance with the regulations in force, the Executive Committee took note of that decision and transmitted the report to the Conference.

The XIX Pan American Sanitary Conference may wish to adopt the follow-ing resolution:

Proposed Resolution

THE XIX PAN AMERICAN SANITARY CONFERENCE,

Having considered the report of the Award Committee of the PAHO Award for Administration (Document CE72/4, Addendum I); and

Bearing in mind the criteria for the PAHO Award for Adminis t ration,

RESOLVES:

To declare the PAHO Award for Administration for 1974 void.

REPORT OF THE AWARD COMMITTEE OF THE PAHO AWARD

FOR ADMINISTRATION

In accordance with arrangements made by the Executive Committee, Dr. Radl Charles Le6n (Argentina), Dr. Jos_ Mario van Severen (El Salvador)

and Dr. Gaston Deslouches (Haiti) met under the chairmanship of Dr. Deslouches on 3 July 1974 to examine the documentation on the PAHO Award for Adminis-tration and, considering that the Member Governments have not proposed

candidates for the Award as the authors of studies, researches or essays

applicable to the health sector, they recommend as follows: i. That the competition for 1974 be declared void.

2. That it be duly noted that the founder of the Award has been informed and will, it is understood,submit a formal communication to the effect that henceforward the regulations governing the Award should be thrown open, in other words, that the restriction in the rules should be waived so that the Award can be made in any year, on the basis either
