I t is a m aj or conquest , since such aid is only gr ant ed aft er an int ense com pet it ion bet w een j ournals and j udgm ent by t he Assist ant Com m it t ee of CNPq. Few j our nals ear n it , w hich show s our Journal's gr eat gr ow t h pot ent ial and m at urit y. This w as t he t hir d at t em pt t o obt ain t he benefit , and t hanks t o our insist ence and com pet ent w ork perform ed by our edit orial depar t m ent , it w as finally achieved. I t is w or t h
st ressing t hat t his m er it also belongs t o t he aut hor s and r eview er s w ho believed and par t icipat ed in successive issues of t his j our nal, and w er e evaluat ed by t he CNPq.
While w e are pr oud of t his conquest , w hich belongs t o all SBACV m em bers, w e are also responsible for show ing CNPq t hat w e w ill be w or t h of t heir invest m ent . To do so, aut hor s have t o subm it m or e art icles, so t hat w e have a large num ber for select ion and publicat ion. We are cert ain t hat w e w ill not r un out of r aw m at er ial for w r it ing paper s, since t her e has been about 500 fr ee t hem es in each nat ional congress of SBACV. I t w ill be necessary t o change a cult ure t hat is root ed in our Societ y,
nam ely, not t aking t he next st ep of t r ansfor m ing free t hem es int o w rit t en art icles for publicat ion.1
That behavior has been gradually changing, and aut hor s are st art ing t o realize t hat publicat ion values t he j our nal, as w ell as t heir inst it ut ion or service, since t he audience r eached by t he Jour nal is m uch lar ger t han t he audience of any congress r oom . All SBACV m em ber s ( about 2,700) receive t he j our nal, w hich has a cir culat ion of around 5,000 issues, and it is also dist r ibut ed t o m any libraries and t eaching and r esear ch inst it ut ions. I n addit ion, it can be elect r onically accessed at SciELO ( w w w .scielo.br / j vb) or at t he Jour nal's w ebsit e ( w w w .j vascbr .com .br ) .
Support by CNPq dist inguishes our Jour nal, it is a kind of " br and," w hich values it s publicat ions. We hope t hat such ent husiasm cont am inat es all our colleagues in t he sense of w or king hard and m or e int ensely t o subm it m or e art icles, pr ovided t hat w e have a Journal w it h a gr eat gr ow t h pot ent ial and we need t hat ent husiasm t o achieve our goals of m aking it t he m ain m eans of scient ific publicat ion in our specialt y in Br azil and Lat in Am er ica, besides being indexed in MEDLI NE, w hich m ay ar ouse t he int er est of int er nat ional r eader s.
