To quickly find information, the documentation includes a table of contents at the beginning. The safety information is designed according to ANSI (American National Standards Institute) and the intensity of the risk. Classification according to intensity (degree) of the risk is done according to ANSI Z535 with the following warning levels.

This manual is part of the supplied fan and must be available throughout its life. If the ventilator is passed on to someone else, these instructions must be given to each subsequent user or operator. Warning level Use of Possible consequences if the security. direct threat of a risk) Death or very serious injury.

The axial fans in the series AXC/AXR/AXCBF in versions B, D, G, P, (K), (B) are intended for installation in ventilation systems. The axial fans in the AXC/AXR/AXCBF series in versions B, D, G and P are ready-to-use products and are used as components for ventilation devices, machines and systems. The fans are not suitable for sucking dusty or aggressive media or media with such a content of dust that the function of the fan can be impaired by accumulation on the blades and on the fan housing.

The fans are suitable for an ambient temperature of no more than 55 °C (observe information on nameplate). If one of the fans fails and the second fan continues to run, this specific arrangement ensures that at least 66 % of the total air volume flow that was originally planned can be continued. This is necessary, among other things, in the use of the fans for the removal of CO or smoke extraction from garages.

The temperature resistance of smoke extraction fans for the case of smoke extraction can be seen from the name plate (300 °C/120 min). The temperature resistance of smoke extraction fans for the case of smoke extraction can be seen from the name plate (400 °C/120 min).

Qualification

The AXC-D "D" series of axial fans is designed as a roof fan with a base plate and with a roof hood. Version (B) is suitable for exhausting fire gases, temperature classification according to DIN EN 12101 part 3 for at least once 300 °C for 120 minutes. This range of fans can also be used for daily ventilation as needed, thus fulfilling a dual function. These fans are all supplied without thermal protection.

Version (F) is suitable for the discharge of combustion gases, temperature classification according to DIN EN 12101 part 3 for at least one time 400 °C for 120 minutes. AXR By switching the direction of rotation, the transport direction can be reversed.

Personal protective equipment

Residual hazards due to malfunctions, malfunctions or force majeure effects in the operation of the fan cannot be completely excluded. The designer, operator or builder of the device, machine or system must take appropriate safety measures in accordance with DIN EN 12100 to prevent the occurrence of a risky situation. Eliminate any risk of unwanted fan activation or unwanted contact with the rotor during any work.

To avoid disturbances and to protect the motor, the latter must be disconnected from the mains by the integrated resistor in the event of a disturbance in operation (e.g. inadmissible high media temperature) in accordance with Council Directive 94/9/EC. If this product is integrated into a system or completed and operated with other components (eg regulation and control devices), the manufacturer or operator of the overall system is responsible for compliance with EMC Directive 89/336/EEC. The nameplate indicates the electrical figures approved by the registration office in the EC type test (declaration of conformity) for the car when it is optimally cooled.

These fans are direct driven axial fans where the motor is placed directly in the air stream. The outside of the fans is formed by a tubular housing of galvanized sheet steel, which has a flange with holes according to the eurovent 1/2 standard pressed on both sides. The electrical connection is made via a terminal box located on the outside of the housing, the motor connections are made from the factory.

If the fans are controlled by a frequency converter, it is necessary to connect thermal protection, resistance (standard PTC) or thermal contacts (TC) in the motor. The fan can operate in continuous operation at 55 °C ambient and transport temperature, and in the ISO H version it can operate up to 100 °C, depending on the finish. The fan can operate both permanently at an ambient temperature of 55 °C and also (once) for 120 minutes at a transport temperature of 300 °C.

According to the previous design, fans can also be intended for vertical use - air direction "SO" or "SU" (see illustrations). The fans can be operated in continuous operation at a maximum ambient temperature of 55 °C and also at a maximum transmission temperature of 55 °C with ISO F motors. For motor operation, the standard stamped frequency must be observed.

Assembly

If the gap dimensions are correct, install the fan so that you cannot touch the rotor during operation. Equip the fan with at least an IP 20 protective net with free inlet and free exhaust. Install the fan in such a way that access to the fan is always ensured for the needs of maintenance work and that the fan can be disassembled without disproportionate effort.

Ensure sufficient free space in the vicinity of the fan to carry out any necessary maintenance work. Adjust the fan in the correct direction of air flow (in accordance with the arrow on the device). Fit the fan with B3 motors and with "air direction S" in such a way that the mounting feet of the electric motor are horizontal under the motor.

Notes on installing air ducts NOTE Risk of fan damage. Install hood traps on exhaust fans only in the direction of air behind the fan (pressure side). In both cases, subsequent damage to the fan and the overall system is possible.

In the "D" series, the axial roof fan must be placed on a correspondingly stable base. The construction of the wall and the mounting of the fan must be adapted to the weight of the fan. Smoke exhaust fans are suitable for positioning inside a building in the fire room, inside the building in a separate room and outside in the open environment.

If they are positioned outside the fire zone, but still inside the building, the fan must be provided with thermal insulation by the customer. To ensure that the characteristic is achieved, it is necessary that an even and non-rotating flow is available at the inlet. If this is not possible for construction reasons, a deflector with protective blades located in front of the fan must be optimized in its engineering flow properties in such a way as to achieve an even velocity distribution at the fan inlet.

Adjusting the blade angle

If the fan is operated outside the specified characteristic, there is the risk of unstable running and inadmissible vibrations, even possibly its destruction. This can happen in the case of a bad flow or excessively high resistance in the system. Complete the attached commissioning record sheet and present it in the event of a warranty claim.

Regularly check the perfect operation of the fan (free movement of the rotor, measurement of current consumption, check for possible vibrations and noises).

Speed-controlled fan operation

The operating characteristics are also influenced by the operating point of the fan and the external devices and accessories used. The lifespan of fans can be extended by rapidly passing resonant frequencies. The fan and the frequency converter must be installed as close as possible to each other.

Motors with extended nipples must be relubricated (the type of grease can be found on the motor nameplate or on the motor manufacturer's IMO) according to the manufacturer's instructions. Check the operation of the system and the controls (all poles) according to the system maintenance book at least every 3 months, if not more often. The parameters of the other points must not deviate from the initial values measured during installation.

If one of the parameters deviates from the initial figures, replace the motor or fan wheel or have them repaired by the manufacturer. Risk of eye injuries from debris or dust flying out when checking the direction of rotation. If OK, check power supply and motor (short circuit, bearing damage, blocked or ground rotor), contact after-sales service.

In principle: the noise development in a fan depends to a large extent on the installation situation and the operating conditions. For this reason, generally valid noise data cannot be provided, they always relate to the measured conditions. If the actual total resistance of the system is higher than planned, this may cause the fan to operate in the breakdown region for some types.

Decommission the engine according to the manufacturer's operating instructions and dispose of as directed. After the fan has finally stopped, dispose of all materials according to applicable laws and regulations.
