Os resultados sugerem que tanto o treinamento intervalado de alta intensidade tradicional (HIIT) quanto o acumulado (HIIT ACUM) tiveram efeitos benéficos sobre parâmetros relacionados a doenças cardiometabólicas como a obesidade. Após 4 semanas de destreinamento estas adaptações foram parcialmente mantidas. Assim, pode-se inferir que os dois tipos de treinamentos intervalados de alta intensidade podem ser alternativas eficazes para a prevenção do sobrepeso e obesidade.
