CONCLUSÕES

A partir da descrição dos hábitos de sono, sonolência diurna e processos cognitivos dos adolescentes em função do uso de mídia, sugerimos que:

 A maioria dos adolescentes utiliza mídias eletrônicas.

 O dispositivo mais utilizado pelos adolescentes é o celular, seguido por televisão e computador.

 Existe uma relação entre o tempo total de uso de mídia e o desempenho na atenção sustentada, memória de curto prazo e flexibilidade cognitiva, com impactos positivos sobre o desempenho.

 Existe uma relação entre a frequência de uso de mídia antes de dormir e o desempenho em tarefas de atenção e memória operacional, com impactos negativos sobre o desempenho.

 O impacto causado pela frequência de uso de mídia no desempenho é, provavelmente, modulado pelo efeito causado nos parâmetros de sono.

O estudo ora apresentado será financiado a partir de recursos obtidos pelo Edital 43/2013 de Ciências Humanas, Sociais e Sociais Aplicadas/CNPq e compreenderá um projeto de mestrado e um de doutorado vinculados ao Programa de Pós Graduação em Psicobiologia da UFRN. A pesquisa tem como objetivo avaliar o efeito do uso de dispositivos eletrônicos (celular, computador, tablet, televisão, vídeo-game) sobre hábitos de sono, sonolência diurna e funções executivas em adolescentes de escolas privadas de Natal/RN. O estudo será realizado com 200 adolescentes de ambos os sexos do 1º e 2º anos do ensino médio de escolas privadas do município de Natal/RN. Os hábitos de sono, as condições socioeconômicas, o cronotipo e a sonolência diurna serão avaliados pelos questionários “A saúde e o sono”, Questionário de Classificação econômica, Questionário de Horne-Ostberg e Escala de sonolência de Epworth, respectivamente. Durante 10 dias serão registrados o uso de dispositivos eletrônicos (no Protocolo de atividades diárias), a exposição à luz, e os horários de início e fim do sono (por actímetros com sensores de iluminação). Paralelamente, os horários de deitar e levantar, e os níveis de sonolência diurna serão anotados no diário de sono. Para avaliação das funções executivas serão utilizados: Escala de inteligência Wechsler para crianças - WISC III, Teste Wisconsin de classificação de cartas – WCST, Tarefa de Execução Contínua, Teste Stroop de cores e palavras, Iowa Gambling Test e Teste da

Objetivo primário:

1. Caracterizar os hábitos de sono de adolescentes que fazem uso de dispositivos eletrônicos (celular, computador, tablet, televisão, vídeo-game).

2. Caracterizar os níveis de sonolência diurna em adolescentes que fazem uso de dispositivos eletrônicos (celular, computador, tablet, televisão, vídeogame).

3. Caracterizar os processos cognitivos das funções executivas em adolescentes que fazem uso de dispositivos eletrônicos (celular, computador, tablet, televisão, vídeo-game).

4. Comparar os hábitos de sono, sonolência diurna e funções executivas em adolescentes que fazem o uso de dispositivos eletrônicos e os que não fazem destes dispositivos.

5. Comparar os hábitos de sono, sonolência diurna e funções executivas em adolescentes, de acordo o tipo de dispositivo eletrônico.

6. Comparar os hábitos de sono, sonolência diurna e funções executivas em adolescentes, de acordo o gênero, que fazem o uso de dispositivos eletrônicos e os que não fazem destes dispositivos.

7. Correlacionar os hábitos de sono, sonolência diurna e processos cognitivos das funções executivas entre adolescentes que fazem o uso de dispositivos eletrônicos e os que não fazem destes dispositivos.
