RESUMO E CONCLUSÕES

Nosso propósito principal neste capítulo foi propor- cionar uma análise passo a passo da condução da TCC individual para transtorno de ansiedade social, desde a avaliação inicial ao seguimento de longo prazo. As dificuldades que podem surgir durante a realização da TCC para transtorno de ansiedade so- cial não são discutidas em detalhe aqui em função de limitações de espaço, mas são debatidas detalhada- mente por Heimberg e Becker (2002). Pessoas como Josie, que fazem melhorias enormes em suas vidas, estimulam a continuação das pesquisas sobre o trans- torno de ansiedade social – um transtorno potencial- mente debilitante, com um prognóstico que entusias- ma cada vez mais.
