If there are new messages on the answering machine, it will answer the line after 2 rings. If there are no new messages on the answering machine, it will answer the line after 4 rings. So if you want to check if you have messages without incurring call charges, you can end the call after the third ring.
You can listen to the messages on your answering machine by calling from an outside line and entering the remote control code*. The remote access code (the same as your PIN code) prevents unauthorized remote access to your answering machine. If the answering machine is turned off, the phone switches to remote access mode after 10 rings.
The following table indicates how to access the answering machine functions using the telephone keypad. If you have multiple mobile phones, only one handset can activate mobile call screening for each call.

Sound Handset does not ring!

Try again by disconnecting and reconnecting the base station's power supply and follow the procedure to register a handset (see section 7.6). If no keys are pressed for 30 seconds, the handset will automatically return to idle mode. It will also automatically return to idle mode when you place the handset back on the base station (if the auto hang-up feature is on).
Reset the handset to revert to the default PIN if it has been changed previously (see “Reset the unit” - section 7.8). Make sure that the answering machine is connected to the power adapter and that the adapter is connected to a mains power supply that is switched on. Try unplugging the electrical outlet and plugging it back in after 1 minute.
If the above solutions do not help, turn off the power to the handset and the base unit.
