In s e v e ra l s tu d ie s (0 5 ,1 4 ,2 0 ,2 1 ,2 3 ,4 7 ,5 2 ,6 4 ,6 6 ,6 8 ). th e d e te c tio n o f th e rh e u m a to id fa c to r ra n g e s fro m z e ro (5 5 ) to 1 0 0 % (2 8 ). S in c e th e la te x fix a tio n te s t is m o re s e n s itiv e a n d le s s s p e c ific th a n th e W a a le r-R o s e te s t, it c a n b e a s s u m e d th a t th is s e n s itiv ity c o u ld c o n trib u te to th e s e d iffe re n c e s in ra te . In a d d itio n , in s tu d ie s w h e re th e ra te s a re v e ry h ig h , th e n u m b e r o f p a tie n ts s tu d ie d is lo w (0 8 ).
