RESOLUTION

CD3.R6

PAN AMERICAN SANITARY BUREAU STAFF RULES

THE 3rd DIRECTING COUNCIL,

Considering that the report presented by the special committee appointed by the Director of the Pan

American Sanitary Bureau to comply with Resolution IV, paragraph 1, adopted by the Executive

Committee at its 7th Meeting, contains recommendations concerning Staff Rules for the Pan

American Sanitary Bureau; and

Considering that the Executive Committee, at its 8th Meeting, after a detailed study of the [matter,

formulated recommendations for consideration by the Directing Council],

RESOLVES

[To instruct] that the Pan American Sanitary Bureau adopt the Staff Rules and Regulations of the

World Health Organization duly modified and set forth in Document CE8.L-7, with the following

exceptions: Articles 20, 27, and 28; Rules 550, 610, 852, 853, 1111, and 1120; and all of Section

2. [To request] that the Director of the Bureau continue the studies and negotiations now being

made regarding pensions, compensations, and an administrative tribunal.

3. [To authorize] the Executive Committee to take a decision regarding the articles and rules

mentioned in paragraph 1 when all the pertinent information mentioned has been obtained.

4. [To recommend] that, until such time as the Executive Committee comes to a decision regarding

the aforementioned paragraph: (a) the employees of the Pan American Sanitary Bureau continue to

participate in the Pension Plan of the Pan American Union; (b) the present insurance plan for

employees [be continued]; and (c) no [decision be taken] with regard to the Administrative

Tribunal.
