NON-GOVERNMENTAL FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR HEALTH
ACTIVITIES
THE 16th DIRECTING COUNCIL,
Having considered the report of the Director on nongovernmental financial support for health
activitities (Document CE52/12), which mentions the establishment of the World Health
Foundation of the United States of America and the plan for the establishment of similar national
foundations in other countries;
Bearing in mind Resolution V on this matter adopted by the Executive Committee at its 52nd
Meeting; and
Considering Articles 3 and 9 of the Agreement between the World Health Organization and the Pan
American Health Organization,
RESOLVES
1.To take note of the report of the Director of the Bureau on nongovernmental voluntary
2.To take note, also, of the Agreement signed by the Director-General of the World Health
Organization and the Director of the Pan American Sanitary Bureau on 15 October 1964 at
Washington, D.C.
3.To instruct the Director of the Bureau to continue to cooperate in the plan for world health
foundations and to take such steps as he deems necessary to further the fundamental purposes set
forth in the Constitutions of the Pan American Health Organization and of the World Health
Organization.
