Report from Prefecturally Funded International Student [県 で は 、 国際 協 力 及 び 国 際交 流 の 一 環 とし て 、 ブ ラ ジ ルに 移 住 し た 宮崎 県 出 身者 の 子 弟（ 日 系 人 ）を 受 け 入れ 、県 内 の 大 学 、専 門 的研 究 機 関 等 に 留 学 し て も らう 県 費 留 学 生受 入 事 業を 実 施 し て おり 、平 成 ２ ４ 年度 は ２ 名 を 受け 入 れ まし た 。今 回 の「 み や ざ き 発 国際 交 流 レ ポ ート 」で は 、平 成２ ４ 年 度 県 費 留 学 生 、甲藤 さ ん が 作 成 し た 、本県 で の 留 学 生 活 に つ い て のレ ポ ー ト を 掲載 し ま す。 」
[To promote international cooperation and exchange, the Miyazaki Prefectural government provides scholarships to Brazilians of Japanese ancestry whose families originated from Miyazaki for
study at universities and specialty research centers within the prefecture. Two students are currently studying under this program for the 2012-13 academic year. This week’s “Miyazaki International Exchange Report” was written by one of 2012’s Prefecturally funded study abroad students, Yukimi Katto, and describes her study abroad experiences in Miyazaki.]
は じ めま し て 、 甲 籐シ ン チ ア雪 美 と 申 し ます 。 私 は ブ ラジ ル の サ ン タカ タ リ ーナ 国 立 大 学 で薬 剤 師 法 食 品生 化 学 を 学 びま し た 。私 は 今 年 、 宮崎 県 の 支 援 によ り 留 学 生 とし て 日 本に 来 る 事 が でき ま し た 。 本当 に 感 謝 し てい ま す 。日 本 に 来 る 前は す ご く 不 安で 緊 張 し て いた の で すが 、 宮 崎 空 港に 着 い た ら 親せ き の お ば さん 達 が いて く れ た の で心 強 く な り まし た 。 私 は ３ヶ 月 間 、霧 島 酒 造 で 研修 し た 後 、 宮崎 大 学 で 勉 強を す る 事に な り ま し た。 Hello, my name is Yukimi Cintia Katto. biochemistry of foods at the Federal University of Santa Catarina in Brazil. I am currently able to study in Japan for the 2012-13 academic year thanks to the financial aid I receive from the Miyazaki Prefectural Government. I am very grateful for this opportunity. Before arriving in Japan, though, I was very worried and nervous. After landing at Miyazaki Airport, however, I was encouraged by my aunts and other relatives living in Japan that had come to meet me at the airport. Muito prazer, meu nome é Cintia Yukimi Katto. Sou graduada em Farmácia Bioquímica e Tecnologia de alimentos pela Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, Brasil. Este ano, tive a oportunidade de vir ao Japão como bolsista, graças ao apoio do Governo de Miyazaki. Antes de vir ao Japão, estava ansiosa e com medo, mas ao chegar no aeroporto em Miyazaki, fui recepcionada pelos meus parentes, me senti acolhida e fiquei muito feliz. Nos 3 primeiros meses, irei estagiar no Kirishimashuzo e após esse período estudarei na Universidade de Miyazaki. 霧 島 酒造 で の 研 修 は 、4 月 16 日か ら 始 ま り ま し た 。焼酎 の 作 り 方 に つ いて 全 部 覚 え たい と 思 って い た と こ ろ、 畑 に 芋を 植 え る と ころ か ら 体験 さ せ て い ただ き ま した 。 そ の 後 、 製 造 や酒 質 管 理 、 ブレ ン ド 、ボ ト リ ン グ など の 研 修を 行 い ま し た。 霧 島 酒造 の 人 達 は す ご く 親切 で い ろ ん な事 を 教 えて く れ ま し た。 お か げで 、 私 も 毎 日楽 し み なが ら 研 修 を す る こ とが で き ま し た。 ま た 、私 の た め に 歓迎 会 を 開い て く れ た り、 誕 生 日に は ケ ー キ を 買 っ てお 祝 い を し てく れ た りと 、 本 当 に 嬉し か っ たで す 。 と て も親 切 な 人達 に 出 会 え て 本 当 によ か っ た と 思っ て い ます 。 研 修 の 機会 を 与 え、 親 切 に 色 々教 え て くれ た 霧 島 酒 造 の 人 達に は 、 心 か ら感 謝 し てい ま す 。 霧 島酒 造 で 学ん だ こ と を ブラ ジ ル に帰 っ て か ら も 役 立 てた い と 思 い ます 。
My training at Kirishima Distillery began on April 16t h. I wanted to learn everything relating to how shochu is made, and actually my training started with me planting potatoes. My training would later include such things as production, quality control, blending methods, bottling, etc. The people working at Kirishima Distillery were very kind, and they taught me many things. Thanks to them I was able to enjoy every day of my training. The staff at Kirishima even held a welcome party for me and bought me a cake on my birthday. I am truly fortunate to have met such kind people. I am really thankful for being given the opportunity to undergo training at the Kirishima Distillery and for how patient everyone was when instructing me. I look forward to making use of what I have learned from my training when I return home to Brazil. O meu estágio no Kirishimashuzo começou em 16 de abril. Pretendia aprender tudo sobre o processo de fabricação do Shochu, tive, então, a oportunidade de começar a ver o processo desde a plantação da batata doce. Depois disso, passei pelos setores de fermantação,
controle de qualidade, destilação, corte e engarrafamento. Todos os funcionários da empresa eram muito gentis e me ensinaram pacientemente cada etapa do processo, graças a isso, o dia a dia do meu estágio foi muito divertido e prazeroso. Além disso, fizeram pra mim uma festa de boas-vindas e no dia do meu aniversário, compraram um bolo, fiquei realmente muito feliz. Foi muito bom ter conhecido pessoas tão amigáveis e gentis. Agradeço de coração a todas as pessoas que me ajudaram no Kirishimashuzo durante o meu estágio, espero poder utilizar no Brasil os conhecimentos adquiridos nesse estágio.
霧 島 酒造 で の 研 修 が終 わ り 宮崎 大 学 で の 授業 が 始 まる ま で の 間 、大 学 が 夏休 み 期 間 だ っ た た め、日 本 の 色々 な 観 光 地を 回 り な が ら日 本 の 歴史 や 文 化 を 見て き ま した 。宮 崎 では 、 浴 衣 を着 て え れ こ っち ゃ 祭 りに 行 っ た り 、大 学 の 研究 室 の 皆 さ んと キ ャ ンプ に 行 っ た り し ま した 。 ま た 、 福岡 、 広 島、 愛 媛 、 大 阪、 神 戸 、奈 良 、 京 都 、東 京 な どに も 行 き ま し た 。 日本 の 色 々 な 所へ 行 き まし た が 、 私 のイ メ ー ジす る 日 本 に 一番 近 か った の は 京 都 で し た 。京 都 で は 神 社や お 寺 に行 っ た の で すが 、 一 つ一 つ が 違 っ てい て 素 晴ら し か っ た で す 。 外国 か ら 日 本 へ来 る 人 は、 京 都 へ 行 くべ き だ と思 い ま す 。 京都 で は 舞妓 さ ん の 体 験 を し 、日 本 の 文 化 に触 れ る こと が 出 来 て 嬉し か っ たで す 。
As Miyazaki University was in summer vacation after I completed my training at the Krishima Distillery I had some time before my classes began, so I visited some of
Japan’s famous tourist spots and learned a little about Japan’s history and culture. In Miyazaki I put on yukata and went to the Erekoccha Fesitival and later went camping with some of the other students in my lab. I also visited Fukuoka, Hiroshima, Ehime, Osaka, Kobe, Nara, Kyoto, and Tokyo. I traveled to various places throughout Japan but found Kyoto to be closest to how I had imagined Japan would be. I was amazed and impressed at how each of the shrines and temples in Kyoto differed from the next. I think that Kyoto is a must visit for anyone traveling abroad in Japan. In Kyoto, I was happy to be able to experience being a Maiko for a day and to become more familiar with Japanese culture.
No período entre o término do estágio no Kirishimashuzo e o início das aulas na Universidade de Miyazaki, esta se encontrava em férias de verão. Aproveitei, então, para visitar diversos pontos turísticos do Japão e aprender um pouco sobre a história e cultura japonesa. Em Miyazaki, fui ao Festival Erekocha vestindo Yukata e também, a um acampamento com os alunos do laboratório onde iniciarei meus estudos. Fui
também para Fukuoka, Hiroshima, Ehime, Osaka, Kobe, Nara, Kyoto e Tokyo. Dentre todos esses lugares que visitei, Kyoto foi o lugar que mais se aproximou da imagem que eu tinha do Japão, em Kyoto fui a vários templos, sendo que cada um deles possui sua peculiaridade e é realmente encatador. Quando se vem de outro país, Kyoto é um lugar que não se pode deixar de conhecer, tive a oportunidade de me caracterizar de Maico-san, foi realmente incrível a sensação de fazer parte da cultura japonesa. ブ ラ ジル 、メ キ シ コ 、ペ ル ー 、ド ミ ニ カ か ら の 留 学 生 15 人 で 富 士 山に 登 っ た こ とも い い 思い 出 で す 。 雨が 降 っ て寒 か っ た り 、 人が 多 く て 混 雑し て い たり 、 頂 上 近 くは 酸 素 が薄 か っ た り と 思っ た よ り 大 変で し た 。途 中 で す ご く辛 い 時 もあ っ た の で す が、 頂 上 で と ても 素 晴 らし い 景 色 を 見る こ と がで き 、 ま た 元 気に な り ま し た。 残 念 なが ら 、 曇 っ てい た の で日 の 出 は 見 れ ませ ん で し た が、 そ れ でも す ご く き れい な 景 色で し た 。
Another great memory was of climbing Mount Fuji with 15 other international students. In our group there were students from Brazil, Mexico, Peru, and the
Dominican Republic. The trek was more difficult than I had expected: it rained, it was cold, it was crowded, and the air was thin near the summit. There were quite a few trying times along the way, but the beautiful view from the summit reenergized us. Sadly, we weren’t able to see the sunrise because of the cloudy weather. Still, it was a magnificent view.
Outra boa lembrança é ter escalado o monte Fuji, com bolsistas do Brasil, México, Peru e República Dominicana, totalizando 15 pessoas. Foi mais difícil do que imaginei que seria, pegamos chuva, frio, tinha trechos que chegava a estar congestionado de tantas pessoas e perto do topo o ar era rarefeito. Mas ao alcançar o topo e ver aquela vista maravilhosa, o ânimo foi renovado. Infelizmente, estava nublado e não foi possível ver o sol nascer , mas ainda assim, a paisagem era muito bonita.
神 戸 では メ リ ケ ン パー ク に 行き ま し た 。そ こ に は「 希望 の 船 出 」と い う 銅像 が あ り ま す。 こ の 銅像 は 神 戸 港 から ブ ラ ジル へ 渡 っ た 移民 を 記 念す る も の で す。 こ こ から 沢 山 の 日 本 人 が 新し い 土 地 を めざ し て 知ら な い 国 へ と出 発 し てい き ま し た 。言 葉 も 通じ な く て と て も 苦 労さ れ た こ と でし ょ う 。私 も 祖 父 や 祖母 か ら ブラ ジ ル に 移 住し て 苦 労し た 話 を よ く 聞 か され て い ま し た。 あ の 頃は 今 の よ う に電 話 や イン タ ー ネ ッ トが な く 、す ぐ に 郵 便 も 届 か なく て ど ん な に大 変 だ った こ と で し ょう 。 私 の祖 父 や 祖 母 、叔 父 、 母も ブ ラ ジ ル へ 移 住 した 時 は 神 戸 港か ら 出 発し ま し た 。
In Kobe I visited Meriken Park. At this park there is a bronze statue called
“Kibō-no-funade” [Embarking for Hope]. This statue was built in memory of those that Immigrated to Brazil from Kobe Port. This is a point where many Japanese individuals set out for new lands in an unknown
country. Not being able to speak the language they surely had troubling times when they first arrived in Brazil. It is hard to imagine how difficult it must have been for them in a time without phones, internet, and near instantaneous mail delivery. When my grandfather, grandmother, uncle, and aunt immigrated to Brazil, they departed from Kobe Port.
Em Kobe, fui ao Parque Meriken, onde há uma estátua que homenageia os emigrantes que partiram para o Brasil. Foi saindo desse lugar que muitos japoneses partiram em busca de uma nova terra, imagino como deve ter sido difícil ir para um país sem nem saber falar o idioma local. Eu ouvi, muitas vezes, a história dos meus avós, do quanto foi difícil ir para o Brasil. Meus avós, meu tio e minha mãe, quando foram pro Brasil, saíram do porto de Kobe. Naquela época não havia telefone ou Internet, e era muito complicado receber notícias.
10 月 か ら宮 崎 大 学 で の 授 業が 始 ま り ま した 。私は 日 本 語 の 授業 を 二 つ 受け る 事 に し まし た 。 一つ は 文 法 や 語彙 を 勉 強す る た め で あり 、 も う一 つ は 自 然 科学 系 の 実習 、 講 義 の 際 に 用 いら れ る こ と の多 い 日 本語 を 中 心 に、理 科 系 の初 歩 的 な 日 本語 を 学 習す る た め で す。 研 究 室の ゼ ミ の 他 に、 植 物 食品 化 学 特 論 や食 品 機 能化 学 特 論 、 食品 製 造 学な ど の 授 業 も 受 け てい ま す 。 食 品製 造 学 につ い て は 、 ブラ ジ ル の大 学 で 同 じ よう な 授 業を 受 け て い ま し た が、 日 本 の 色 々な 食 品 （み そ 、 納 豆 、し ょ う 油、 梅 干 し 、 日本 酒 、 焼酎 な ど ） の 製 造 に つい て の 勉 強 が出 来 る ので 、 す ご く 役に 立 ち ます 。 日 本 語 で技 術 用 語や 試 薬 の 事 を 言 わ れる と ま だ ま だ難 し い こと が あ る の で、 こ れ から も 一 生 懸 命努 力 し て、 少 し で も 多 く の 日本 語 を 学 び 、頑 張 っ てい き た い と 思っ て い ます 。
My classes at Miyazaki University began in October. I decided that I would take two Japanese language classes. In one of these classes I study grammar and vocabulary, and in the other I learn elementary scientific Japanese, focusing on Japanese words that often come up in my natural science training and in lectures. Aside from my lab class I am also taking a class on special topics in the chemistry of edible plants, a class on special topics in functional food chemistry, and a class on food production. While in Brazil I did take a class that was similar to my current food production class, it is still very useful to me because I learn about the production of many Japanese foods (miso, natto, soy, umeboshi, sake, shochu, etc.). Still, I have difficulty with technical and chemical related Japanese terms, so I will work to learn as much Japanese as I can during my remaining time in Miyazaki.
As aulas na Universidade de Miyazaki começaram em outubro. Vou assistir a duas aulas de japonês. Uma delas é para estudar gramática e vocabulário, e a outra é para estudar os termos utilizados durante a prática laboratorial, mais voltada pra área de ciências. Além disso, participarei também dos seminários do laboratório, e de duas diciplinas ministradas no mestrado pelo meu Professor, Teoria de produtos químicos e alimentos funcionais; síntese de produtos químicos alimentares. E também da disciplina do terceiro ano, Processo de fabricação de alimentos. Essa última matéria é muito parecida com uma que eu tive no Brasil, mas dessa vez terei a oportunidade de estudar o processo de fabricação de uma variedade de alimentos Japoneses (miso, natto, molho de soja, umeboshi, saquê, shochu, etc). Ainda acho muito difícil
mas pretendo continuar me esforçando e dando o meu melhor para aprender e melhorar meu japonês.
