REM: R. Esc. Minas, Ouro Preto, 66(4), out. dez. | 2013 A REM fecha o ano de forma positiva, se preparando para comemorar, em janeiro, seu 78º aniversário.

Durante o XIV Encontro dos Editores Cientíicos, alguns palestrantes abordaram o tema da boa reputação do periódico, dos seus editores, apresentando qual seria o ponto central para que se torne internacional, airmando que tudo isso está ligado às ideias que possam ajudar a melhorar o seu bom funcionamento e levá-lo a se tornar um veículo de comunicação e de informação com presença global. Faz-se necessário que haja abertura da publicação, a im de que seus artigos sejam encontrados e utilizados em todo o mundo.

A adoção de um novo sistema – ScholarOne – coloca a REM na direção recomendada por vários editores nacionais e estrangeiros. A referida ferramenta poderá auxiliar no melhor controle dos trabalhos e propiciar uma maior rapidez na sua análise, problema que, em um sentido geral, está sempre presente no dia a dia das equipes das publicações.

Não poderíamos terminar o ano sem agradecer o apoio das empresas que, durante esse ano, apoiaram a REM, bem como ao CNPq/Capes. A esse grupo vem-se juntar a FAPEMIG, que acaba de aprovar um apoio à nossa publicação.

Finalmente a equipe da REM agradece aos autores, leitores, avaliadores, assim como seus colaboradores, que vêm tornando nossa publicação cada vez melhor.

REM closes this year in a positive manner and is preparing to commemorate its 78th anniversary this coming January.

During the XIV Encounter of Scientiic Editors (XIV Encontro dos Editores Cientíicos), some of the lecturers approached the issues of: 1) the importance of a periodical’s good reputation, along with that of its editors, and 2) the main points for it to become international. They stated that everything is connected to ideas that can improve its status and make it a worldwide communication and information tool for those interested in science. The idea is to broaden circulation of the publication, so that its articles can be read and utilized throughout the world.

With this in mind, REM has adopted a new system– ScholarOne – that places it in the direction recommended by various national and foreign editors. The referred-to system helps referred-to better-control the articles and proportions their quicker analysis, a problem that is ever present in the daily job of the publication staff.

In addition, we cannot inish this year without saying thanks to the companies and CNPq/Capes who have supported us along the year. Once again, this group, together with FAPEMIG, have just approved support for REM in the coming year.

Finally the staff from REM thanks the authors, readers, referees, and collaborators for turning this publication into an ever better magazine.
