FINANCIAL REPORT OF THE DIRECTOR AND REPORT OF THE EXTERNAL AUDITOR FOR 1973

At its 72nd Meeting the Executive Committee, after examining the Financial Report of the Director and Report of the External Auditor for 1973 (Official Document 128), approved Resolution III which reads as follows:

THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE,

Having examined the Financial Report of the Director and Report of the External Auditor for fiscal year 1973 (Official Document 128); and

Recognizing that the Organization continues to be in a sound financial situation,

RESOLVES:

i. To take note of the Financial Report of the Director and Report of the External Auditor for fiscal year 1973

(Official Document 128) and to transmit it to the XIX Pan American Sanitary Conference.

2. To again commend the Director for having achieved and maintained a sound financial situation.

348_782 _ Thirty-three projects were implemented but not budgeted:

260,951 0.6 a) Twenty projects were on PAHO/WHO Regular funds: Twelve were continued beyond the expected

end-ing date, five of which were country projects funded from AMRO projects; two were advanced from future budget years; one was a new project; one was budgeted as a country project in antici-pation of UNDP funding but was spent under an AMRO project; and four were subdivisions of

AMRO projects.

87,831 0.2 b) Thirteen projects were implemented during the year when extrabudgetary funds became available: 3 from UNDP funds

i from PAHEF funds 5 from external grantors i from WHO Other funds 2 from Water Supply f_nds

i from the Special Fund for Research

In view of the foregoing, the Conference may wish to adopt a resolution along the following lines:

Proposed Resolution THE XIX PAN AMERICAN SANITARY CONFERENCE,

Having exam{ned the Financial Report of the Director and the Report of the External Auditor for fiscal year 1973 (Official Document 128);

Noting the modifications in expenditures from amounts originally budgeted for some activities and projects; and

Recognizing that the Organization continues to be in a sound financial condition,

RESOLVES:

i. To take note of the Financial Report of the Director and the Report of the External Auditor for fiscal year 1973

(Official Document 128).

2. To again commend the Director for having achieved and maintained a sound financial condition.
