Our team of studies in Ischemic Heart Disease congratulates the authors for the article “Effectiveness and Safety of Drug-Eluting stents in a Cardiology Department in Curitiba - PR”¹ and the results obtained at their department.
It is known that the occurrence of stent thrombosis has often catastrophic consequences, such as acute vessel occlusion, or even sudden death². Stent thrombosis is a topic that interests us, especially in the way we manage late thrombosis in drug-eluting stents. Therefore, we would like to know the authors’ opinion about the routine use of acetylsalicylic acid and clopidogrel after the first year of drug-eluting stent implantation in order to avoid events due to late stent thrombosis.
