PROPOSAL OF THE DELEGATIONS OF MEXICO

AND EL SALVADOR

THE DIRECTING COUNCIL,

Taking into consideration Resolution II adopted at the 17th M:eeting of the Executive Committee;

Convinced of the need to implement administrative measures that will benefit equally the international staff members of the Organization, who work either at Headquarters or away from Headquarters;

Recognizing that there are obvious advantages in having the staff rules and the salary schedules uniform with those of the World Health Organization; and

Noting that the adoption of administrative policies identical with those already adopted or to be adopted by the World Health Organization might, in certain cases, make it difficult to institute just and equitable provisions for the entire staff of the Pan American Sanitary Organization wherever employed,

RESOLVES:

1. To recommend that the Director of the Bureau study how to enable the international staff working away from Headquarters to enjoy those benefits granted the Head-quarters staff.
