OUTCOMES:
most of the meetings took place remotely, allowing the increase in meetings, more representative of the Fundação Abrinq in more distant regions with difficult access, and expanded the experience of sharing opportunity with the organization and between partner companies. Visits on site were held only in the months of February and March, in the regions of Blumenau (SC), Curitiba (PR), Guaramirim (SC), Ita (SC), Pinhais (PR) Pomerode (SC), Santo Amaro da Imperatriz ( SC), São Bento do Sul (SC), São José (SC) and São Paulo (SP).
Among all the issues related to fighting child labor and encouraging corporate social responsibility, many companies sought Fundação Abrinq to support them in the performance during the pandemic.
Seventy-seven meetings were held for describing the qualification strategies of social actions of companies with solutions for performance during this health crisis and suggestions and cases of good practice, offering guidance on the tactics to be adopted to qualify the work that had been performed and understand the performance of companies in this period.
Regarding the practices of corporate social responsibility, companies were encouraged to make donations to minimize the impacts caused by the pandemic through the campaign Do not let hunger kill more than Coronavirus. The action turned BRL 180,000 reais donated by EACs into donations of food staples.
Two awareness campaigns were shared with companies: one on May 18 - National Day to Combat to Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children and Adolescents and the other on June 12 - National Day Against Child Labor.
The program launched two publications in 2020:
e-book Monitoramento da cadeia produtiva and e-book Voluntariado Corporativo. The first, released in November, aimed to present to the Child Friendly Companies the importance of monitoring the production chain in order to prevent
and combat child labor. The second, released in December, aimed to clarify topics related to the implementation of corporate volunteer actions, reinforcing the importance of practice for a social responsibility performance for the cause of children and adolescents.
To be present at the company with the limitations imposed by social distancing, the program made several transmissions. They were:
• Productive chain monitoring in order to prevent and face child labor held with Furnas;
• Child labor scenario, highlighting the role of the private sector in addressing the issue, held with Instituto Votorantim, through Citrosuco;
• How to work to fight the child labor held with Amaggi;
• Social responsibility amidst the pandemic held with IBLISS Digital Security;
• Social responsibility: the importance of acting for the sake of childhood held with Special Dog;
• Society role in social responsibility held with Alimentos Tia Sônia;
• Social responsibility as a reputation for companies held with Instituto C&A.
Finally, the pandemic caused numerous effects on the program’s performance, such as loss of business, default, and the adjustment activities to online format. However, it is possible to evaluate the program managed to reduce possible negative impacts: enabling to increase the interaction with the companies, which remained active and committed to the cause of children and adolescents and expand the network of Child-Friendly Companies, with the entry of 33 new companies.
AMAGGI
The company provided collective spaces focused on the agenda of social leadership. These spaces aimed to foster debate of opinions and reflections on individual and collective responsibilities, promoting forums and training on the future of young people.
In this way, the company designed notices for registration of projects to be supported for actions and workshops in these areas, in addition to granting the use of its physical structure for shows, exhibitions and other artistic events in the community.
GELNEX
The company donated items to the Child Labor Eradication Program (PETI) of Nazario (GO). It provided equipment and materials for recreational activities, such as soccer balls, game, TV, net and volley balls, foosball tables and tennis table, among others.
The initiative also has financed the maintenance of the park located in the courtyard where the project is installed, benefiting 100 children and adolescents.
Another outstanding action of the company was a project that assists the buildings remodeling and adequacy of four social organizations attending children and adolescents with disabilities. Among the remodeling, we highlight the remodeling of electric structure, air-conditioning installation, renovation and adaptation of restrooms and contributions to the installation of solar panels in order to reduce the consumption of electric energy and expenses. They benefited 260 children and 85 adolescents.
IBLISS DIGITAL SECURITY
The company has developed digital security project for children and teenagers based on the cyber
security, healthy browsing, and prevention to cyberbullying.
All actions were performed by the company's staff, to promote the culture of privacy and digital security in a recreational manner, contributing to a new generation of citizens able to use the available technological resources in a safe, responsible, and conscious manner. The project has benefited 5,000 children and adolescents.
MD BRASIL TI & TELECOM
It worked in providing access to the Internet and providing space for web hosting for eight public schools in the city of Bebedouro (SP), benefiting 240 children and 620 adolescents. The investment contributed to distance learning amid the pandemic.
RUBENS NAVES
The company integrates the Interagency Task Force on Early Childhood Education (GTIEI) that, which activities resulted in the City of São Paulo and representatives of civil society to establish the commitment to reduce the waiting lists in the city's day care, including care quality indicators and creating 85,000 jobs by the end of 2020. The company's commitment was also present in monitoring compliance with this agreement.
SG SISTEMAS
The company carried out a project to teach programming logic for the youth of the community of Maringa, Sarandi and Marialva, Parana. Public school students, and adolescents inserted in social organizations were the priority. The company has hired in this project more than 100 employees.
