7.3. Limitações e Sugestões Para Investigações Futuras

Este estudo apresenta algumas limitações que podem indicar algumas sugestões para futuras investigações.

No que diz respeito à revisão da literatura, visto que este é um tema bastante atual e em constante evolução, a principal limitação prendeu-se com a escassez de artigos científicos e livros sobre a temática específica, nomeadamente estudos empíricos sobre o impacto das redes sociais na gestão de uma empresa a operar no mercado internacional; e a forma como essa gestão é ou deve ser feita. Desta forma, algumas temáticas que poderiam ter sido estudadas de uma forma mais aprofundada, não o foram.

Em relação à recolha de dados, apesar terem sido usadas múltiplas fontes de dados de maneira a aumentar a credibilidade destes, o estudo foi limitado a um single-case e no que toca a dados primários, apenas foram entrevistadas duas pessoas da empresa em questão. A aplicação do estudo a um número maior de empresas teria permitido fazer uma análise mais abrangente e representativa da realidade. Como o presente estudo assenta numa abordagem qualitativa e na impossibilidade de generalizar os resultados seria também interessante desenvolver a temática no âmbito de estudos quantitativos.

A limitação de tempo, recursos e limitações geográficas acabaram por ser as principais restrições desta investigação que impediram, provavelmente, de aprofundar algumas questões pertinentes.
