Rev. CEFAC. 2013 Mai-Jun; 15(3):501-736 The third volume of the CEFAC Journal consists of 25 scientiic contributions, being 19 original articles, 1 opinion text, 3 case reports and 2 review articles in the ields of audiology, language, public health, orofacial motricity and voice.

As for the original articles, the irst study is by Neto, Stroppa, Parrera, Maximiano and Hidalgo, about Vestibular rehabilitation in patients with benign paroxysmal positional vertigo. The second study is by Cortes-Andrade, Bento and Lewis on Otoacoustic emissions evoked by transient stimuli: newborn

hearing screening protocol. Alves, Rossi, Pranke and Lemos, present the third study on the Inluence of

gender on postural balance of school aged children. Fernandes, Gil, Santa Maria and Azevedo present the fourth study on Evoked Brainstem Response by bone in individuals with sensorineural hearing

loss. The ifth study is by Braga, Martins, Queiroz and Câmara on the Proile of Speech Language Pathology’s market at audiology clinic. Sagrilo and Ferreira present the sixth study on the Difference between verbal and visual span on genres: a pilot study. The augmentative alternative communication in the therapy session is the seventh contribution by Bortagarai and Ramos.

The eighth study is on the Occurrence of repair strategies for plosive, considering the degree of

phonological disorder by Berticelli and Mota. Perilo, Freitas, Cardoso, Motta and Alves present the ninth study on the Cognitive-linguistic skills and their relation to respiratory characteristics. The tenth study is presented by Salvador, Tessitore, Pfeilaticker, Pascoal and Nemr on the Measurement with

a digital caliper in Bell’s Palsy. The eleventh study is by Martinelli, Marchesan and Berretin-Félix on the Assessment protocol of lingual frenulum to infants: relationship between anatomical and functional aspects. The twelfth contribution by Manzi, Peyneau, Di Ninno, Lopes, Silveira and Machado discusses The relationship between temporomandibular joint disorders and tubal dysfunction in cleft patients.

Children who use Cochlear Implant present different vocal parameters to the vocal parameters of children using hearing aids is the thirteenth study by Souza. The fourteenth study is by Christmann, Scherer, Cielo and Hoffmann on the Maximum phonation time of future voice professionals. Ribeiro, Gama, Bassi and Teixeira present the ifteenth study on the Speech Language Pathology treatment on

dysphonia: Vocal, laryngeal and self-perception parameters.

The sixteenth contribution by Costa, Lacerda and Marques is on Noise in the hospital environment: impact on the health of nurses. The study entitled Prenatal care in the perception of postpartum women from different health services is the seventeenth contribution by Ceron, Barbieri, Fonseca and Fedosse. Menezes, Barbosa, Souza, Freire and Garcia present the eighteenth study entitled Occurrence of

rhinitis, mouth breathing and orofacial alterations in adolescents with asthma.

The authors Ferreira, Silva, Martins-Reis, Friche and Santos present the nineteenth study on the

Distribution of Speech Language Pathology in health care in the state of Minas Gerais from 2005 to 2010. The twentieth study is a case report on Phonological therapy with computer use: case report authored by Pereira, Brancalioni and Keske-Soares. The twenty-irst contribution is by Mazzochi and Aita on Directionality and Speech Recognition in Noise: study of four cases.

The twenty second contribution is about the description of a Electropalatography study of nasal phones produced by individuals with cleft lip and palate by Jesus and Reis. The review article entitled Inluence of levodopa on the oral phase of swallowing in patients with Parkinson’s disease is the twenty-third study presented by Mancopes, Busanello-Stella, Finger, Neu, Pacheco and Torriani.

The twenty-fourth is a review article on the Medical and phonoaudiology treatment of spasmodic dysphonia by Fabron, Nóbile, Viviane Marino, Sebastian and Onofri. The opinion text entitled Speciic

language impairment: the relevance of initial diagnosis by Oliveira and Schier is the twenty-ifth and inal scientiic contribution of this volume.

I conclude this editorial calling the reader’s attention to one more change which will occur in this journal. From the next edition on, there will be an increase in the number of scientiic contributions published in order to not only reduce the waiting time of the publication of articles by the authors, but also increase the visibility of studies done and developed in the Speech Language Pathology in the different ields.
