VALE, Creusa Martins Rodrigues.
ABSTRACT
Symbolic violence and school performance, objects of this research had the objective of assessing the emotional climate in the classroom on their positives and negatives, speech teacher and the student, through the reciprocal system of categories for finding the largest and lesser degree of symbolic violence. This research was conducted in two public schools, six classes of fifth grade. The model chosen was the search field, using the technique of direct observation non-participatory. The sample consisted of 196 subjects, represented by 171 students and 25 teachers. The observations are carried out within two months, twice a week, total of forty-eight observations in sessions of thirty minutes. We also performed an analysis of documents in the office of the institutions studied, allowing more data to assess the smallest and largest academic performance of students. Thus, it was possible to establish relationships between academic achievement and the degree or incidence of different categories, resulting in recommendations to the management team of each school, in order to inform teachers of the instrument used in this study, so it can be used to improve social interaction in the classroom.
