Dear Dr. Acufia:
Acting on the instructions of the Ministry of External Affairs, I hereby submit on behalf of the Government of Grenada a formal application for that country to become a member of the Pan American Health Organization.
I am also to advise you Sir, that I have been designated to represent my Government in the capacity of an observer at the meeting of the Organization's Directing Council which begins on September 27, amd as a full delegate in the event that
Grenada's application for membership is approved.
Grenada, by Joining the Organization seeks to fulfill its desire to further pursue policies leading to greater hemis-pheric cooperation and to demonstrate its deep concern and interest in promoting better health conditions for its own people as well as those of all the other nations of the Americas.
My country is therefore committed to cooperate with the American Countries and the International and Regional
Organ-izations which are engaged in effecting improvements in the health standards of the Region.
In view of this commitment and interest on the part of Grenada, Sir, I respectfully request that you be good enough to place before the Directing Council of the Pan American Health Organization for its consideration, this application
for membership in your esteemed Organization.
