Abstract

The software allows the user to design the interfacing circuit by giving simple input to the system. Here the software develops a graphical interface with different processors line 8085, 86, 186, 286, 386, 486, Pentium pro. This work includes the framework of graphics programming. It is a method to construct computer graphics programs. This software allows the user to construct the interface blocks by selecting required units from the selected menus. A user can easily assemble his/her design without any physical contacts. A user designs the circuit just by selecting items in the menu and gives directions to the system to develop the connections virtually and not with any physical contact and applying any electrical wires. So it will improve the speed of the project designs and reduce the breakage and it also very use full in academic and research area.

Key Words: Interfacing, Work Area, Architectures, Virtual Software, Memory Interfacing

I Introduction

This Virtual Software widely used both at educational programs for conducting of effective lecture, conducted scientific researches, and forming of practical and laboratory works with the students of technical and computer-based special [2]. Every user comes to understand that successful imparting of information and skills lies in the ability to incorporate a variety of technologies that, directly or indirectly, help communication between user and technology. The soft ware is developed with many algorithms to communicate in best way with users. The soft ware is very user friendly and easy to select the required microprocessor/ microcontroller and desired peripheral to accomplish a task. For example a menu named as ARCHTR in the work area will select the particular microprocessor. And DEVICE menu selects the peripherals like PPI, PIC, DMA. The INTERFACE menu include the I/O devices like stepper motors, LEDS, Traffic light controller etc. The MEMORIES menu will allow interfacing different memory devices with different microprocessors. While running the application the help menu will guide the user to build the motherboard in proper direction.

II Experimental Results

The soft ware is developed in delivering diagnostic and remedial system for Diploma and Graduate students taking subjects in microprocessors and embedded systems and for research interest. A user must have microprocessor and embedded knowledge to interact with the software. It is such user friendly software; a technical student does not need any basic training to use the software. On each work area it develops the communication with the user with its message boxes. When a student select any part on the selected architecture it will link to the particular file which give the details of the unit in the architecture as shown in figure 2, 3. The Interfacing devices like 8255 and it modes can be set in control register (CR) by an interactive message box as shown in the figure6. The software also demonstrates some of the bio-Medical applications and some interfacing designs such as traffic light controllers, stepper motor controllers, seven segment interfacing etc. This software allows the user to develop some interfacing circuit interactively as shown in figure 4. For maximum accessibility and ease of implementation, the software was designed to run in a Windows environment using graphics application in C language. For instance to interface four 4k Byte memory devices a 8086 processor is selected as shown in figure1 and size of the memory and number of memory devices are selected using a dialog box as shown in figure4. After entering these parameters the software will assemble the total design as per the requirement. If the same processor is used to interface with 2MB memory device it will reject the design offer and same will be displayed on the monitor. If another application is selected when a design is running the message box should display without overlap with the past graphic output. The graphic message outputs are displayed on the previous outputs as applets in object oriented programming. While interfacing

external peripherals the ports of 8255 (PPI) can be defined virtually with using any software command as shown in figure10.

III Features

 The structure of the software especially the presentation, animation, colors, fonts and sound affects made interest in students to diagnose him.

 The software structure is very interactive and attractive.

 By further development of the modules in the soft ware, it can use for research and real time application problems.

 There is no physical contact between ICs

IV Requirement

Our software package is developed in graphics using C – language in Turbo C++ editor. The software is developed on Microsoft window – 95 based system. The main aim is, in poor countries low economic colleges and lagging in new technologies can also use this software. The systems require a graphic card and program is developed for screen resolution 640X480.

V Conclusion

On the basis of comparative analysis the software packages is marked as versatile direction in conducting lectures, lab work and Research projects. A user designs the circuit just by selecting items in the menu and gives directions to the system to develop the connections virtually and not with any physical contact and applying any electrical wires. So it will improve the speed of the project designs and reduce the breakage and it also very use full in academic and research area.
