So long, Celia...

I

t was 1999 and Celia R. M. D. Rodrigues started her work as a peer reviewer of the Brazilian Oral Research Journal (BOR), reading and issuing opinions for many articles. Celia’s enthusiasm and excellent work earned her an invitation to participate as Assistant Editor of the BOR as of Volume 16, 2002, an ofi ce she exercised with great competence and dedication, helping to make the Brazilian Oral Research one of the best Brazilian journals, with international repercussion.

On May 8th of this year, Celia resigned from her Assistant Editor’s

position, but not because she no longer wanted to pursue her journalistic endeavors. No, Celia was always a fantastic collaborator and a sell ess helper, ready to roll up her sleeves and go to work, always offering a word of incentive and wearing a smile on her face, always honoring the profession to which she devoted herself in body, and now also in soul. She had that rare gift of being able to transform whatever path she em-barked on.

For her merits, Celia was called upon for another job on a higher level of existence, by someone far superior, who undoubtedly also needs help. She was sought for the luminosity of a soul that emanated understand-ing, care and love, so hard to i nd these days.

There are people who mark our lives forever with an indelible ink that leaves an impression of quality on our souls. That is how Celia was.

We wish to dedicate this editorial space to honor a dear friend, sister, counselor, partner and skilled professional,

someone we learned to love and who will be missed, but whom we are certain to see again one day, in a place where her guid-ance and partnership will once again prove indispensable.

So long, dear Celia!
