Palm Sunday April 14, 2019
e
Dear brothers and sisters,
Today we start preparing to enter into the center of our Faith… the Paschal Triduum. We are celebra!ng today that Jesus Christ enters triumphant, riding on a colt, into Jerusalem. The people see the promises about to be fulfilled as they see the Messiah come into the Holy City as it was announced and prophesied. And we can be with the people rejoicing and being glad as he enters today Jerusalem. And as we celebrate this, we read the Passion according to Luke. It seems a li#le disjointed to have these two things together. But it is not, because the same Messiah who enters triumphant in Jerusalem is the same one that will enter triumphant Heaven with us in tow. Christ will open a way to Heaven for humanity as he passes over the Paschal Mystery of his Death and Resurrec!on. We hear how
easy the people that acclaimed him now want him crucified –we want a God that follows our plans and projects, not a God that we need to follow. We want our way not His way. We are posed the same ques!on, who do you want- Jesus or Barabbas… you want the jus!ce of the Cross or you want YOUR own jus!ce at any price.
I truly invite you to take advantage of this !me and to enter with Christ in his Paschal Mystery. On Monday, we are all invited to the Chrism Mass at the Cathedral at 8 PM (I recommend that you arrive around 7 pm if you want to find sea!ng). On Holy Thursday Morning and Good Friday, we are all invited to sung Morning Prayer at 7:30 AM. Holy Thursday our celebra!on will start at 7 PM and Good Friday we will have 3 celebra!ons in different languages. Holy Saturday, we will have sung Morning Prayer at 8 AM, Confessions at 11 AM and Blessing of the Easter Food at noon. Easter Vigil will start at 8:30 AM. May we be able to die with Christ and Rise with him to new life.
Saint Francis de Sales Pray for Us!
Queridos hermanos y hermanas:

“Is anyone among you sick?He should summon the presbyters of the church, and they should pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will save the sick person, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed any sins, he will be forgiven. There- fore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed.
