1 Unidade Curricular: Biologia Funcional de Órgãos e Sistemas I / Functional
Biology of Organs and Systems I
Objectives of the curricular unit and competences to be developed:
This curricular unit aims to provide students with a functional macroscopic anatomical preparation and in the morphology and cell function areas, accompanied by clinical perspective. The student receives a rich vocabulary and forage for his entire professional life. As the basis of their knowledge to the study and understanding of other subjects pre-clinical and clinical trials in order to learn anatomical correlate with the physiological aspects in studying the human body. As part of the basis of their knowledge to solve problems related to normal functions and changed. To develop their communication skills and observation. . In the development of the histological part of this curricular unit, histology slides, medical and dental clinical histories, diagnostic aids and exams are presented to the student in order to integrate knowledge and develop critical thought.

3
Histologia; As variações mais frequentes com implicações clínicas; Relações entre as estruturas, base da Topografia e da Morfologia;
2-Aquisição de aptidões: Descrever ordenadamente uma estrutura ou uma preparação; Aplicar os conhecimentos obtidos para compreender gestos clínicos de diagnóstico e/ou terapêutica; Capacidade de relacionamento verbal, tão importante para a empatia médico/doente;
3-Demonstração de atitudes e qualidades pessoais: Considerar os colegas, partilhar informações, solicitar ajuda e respeitar os docentes; Respeito pelas peças anatómicas naturais, indispensáveis ao bom conhecimento morfológico; boas práticas laboratoriais;
Demonstration of the syllabus coherence with the curricular unit's objectives:
The syllabus are consistent with the objectives of the course:
1-Acquisition of knowledge (knowing): Knowing the structures according to international nomenclature, Method's own description in anatomy, variations more frequently with clinical implications, relations between the structures,
the basis of topography;
2- Acquisition of skills (know how to apply the knowledge): Describe an orderly structure, apply the knowledge gained to perform acts of medical diagnosis or treatment; Good verbal relationship, empathy is so important for
the doctor / patient;
3- Demonstration of personal qualities and attitudes (know to be): Consider colleagues, share information, request help and respect the teachers, Respect for the natural body parts are essential to good morphological knowledge;
4- Liability and interest in self-learning, continuing search for medical education must be permanent.
Teaching methodologies (including evaluation):
The syllabus of this unit will be presented through a theoretical exposition methodology; Learning exercises based on observation of the anatomy and histology and / or their images. Completion of written, oral and identification of
4
structures and images. Presentation, discussion and comments from videos of dissection.
The assessment of this subject area will be made by frequency examination or by taking action. The theoretical component (with a weight of 60% of the final and a minimum score of 9.5) is performed only once (frequency or final exam) is rated for continuous assessment and the provision of students' work throughout the semester (with a weight of 40% of the final). Continuous assessment in turn is the result obtained in class TP (40%). The assessment exam resource is paid and written test dealing is all what is taught in lectures and practical Anatomy I. To pass the minimum score is 9.5 in the written exam.
